Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you; each of you is to return to your family property and to your own clan.

Set the 50th year apart. Announce freedom all over the land to everyone who lives there. The 50th year will be a Year of Jubilee for you. Each of you must return to your own family property. And each of you must return to your own tribe.

For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed has come.

“ I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

“‘ In this Year of Jubilee each of you shall return to his property.

as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.

For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.

For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to the Jerusalem that exists now, for she is in bondage with her children.But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.For it is written,“ Rejoice, you barren who don’t bear. Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. Yahweh frees the prisoners.

But thanks be to God, that, whereas you were bondservants of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were delivered.Being made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness.

promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for a man is brought into bondage by whoever overcomes him.For if, after they have escaped the defilement of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in it and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.

“ Yahweh, the God of Israel, says:‘ I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage, saying,At the end of seven years, every man of you shall release his brother who is a Hebrew, who has been sold to you, and has served you six years. You shall let him go free from you; but your fathers didn’t listen to me, and didn’t incline their ear.You had now turned, and had done that which is right in my eyes, in every man proclaiming liberty to his neighbor. You had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name;but you turned and profaned my name, and every man caused his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom you had let go free at their pleasure, to return. You brought them into subjection, to be to you for servants and for handmaids.’”Therefore Yahweh says:“ You have not listened to me, to proclaim liberty, every man to his brother, and every man to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim to you a liberty,” says Yahweh,“ to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine. I will make you be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth.

Shall the plunder be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives be delivered?But Yahweh says,“ Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the plunder retrieved from the fierce, for I will contend with him who contends with you and I will save your children.

to grant to us that we, being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, should serve him without fear,

The Levites may redeem the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, and it shall be released in the Jubilee; for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.But the field of the pasture lands of their cities may not be sold, for it is their perpetual possession.

They said,“ Yahweh commanded my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the children of Israel. My lord was commanded by Yahweh to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.If they are married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then their inheritance will be taken away from the inheritance of our fathers, and will be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong. So it will be taken away from the lot of our inheritance.When the jubilee of the children of Israel comes, then their inheritance will be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong. So their inheritance will be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.”Moses commanded the children of Israel according to Yahweh’s word, saying,“ The tribe of the sons of Joseph speak what is right.This is the thing which Yahweh commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying,‘ Let them be married to whom they think best, only they shall marry into the family of the tribe of their father.So shall no inheritance of the children of Israel move from tribe to tribe; for the children of Israel shall all keep the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.Every daughter who possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel shall be wife to one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may each possess the inheritance of his fathers.So shall no inheritance move from one tribe to another tribe; for the tribes of the children of Israel shall each keep his own inheritance.’”

If he dedicates his field from the Year of Jubilee, according to your valuation it shall stand.But if he dedicates his field after the Jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money according to the years that remain to the Year of Jubilee; and an abatement shall be made from your valuation.If he who dedicated the field will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall remain his.If he will not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more;but the field, when it goes out in the Jubilee, shall be holy to Yahweh, as a devoted field. It shall be owned by the priests.“‘ If he dedicates a field to Yahweh which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession,then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your valuation up to the Year of Jubilee; and he shall give your valuation on that day, as a holy thing to Yahweh.In the Year of Jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belongs.
