百夫長見此情形，便讚美上帝，說：「這人的確是個義人。」

以便把聖潔、完美、沒有污點、皺紋等瑕疵的榮耀教會呈獻給祂自己。

「我出賣了清白無辜的人，我犯罪了！」他們說：「那是你自己的事，跟我們有什麼關係？」

羊羔必須是毫無殘疾、一歲的公綿羊或公山羊。

對他們說：「你們帶這個人來，指控祂煽動百姓造反，我當著你們的面審問了祂，卻查不出祂有任何你們指控祂的罪。

祂沒有犯罪，口中也沒有詭詐。祂被辱駡也不還口，被迫害也不揚言報復，只把自己交託給按公義施行審判的上帝。祂被釘在十字架上，親身擔當了我們的罪，使我們向著罪死了，可以過公義的生活。因祂所受的鞭傷，你們得到了醫治。

彼拉多又走到外面對眾人說：「我把祂帶到你們面前，好讓你們知道我查不出祂有什麼罪。」

看守耶穌的百夫長和士兵看見地震及所發生的一切，都很害怕，說：「這人真是上帝的兒子啊！」

因為基督也曾一次為罪受苦，以無罪之身代替不義之人，為要領你們到上帝面前。祂的肉體雖被處死，但祂藉著聖靈復活了。

彼拉多正坐堂斷案時，他夫人派人來對他說：「你不要插手這個義人的事！我今天在夢中因為這個人受了許多苦。」

彼拉多見再說也無濟於事，反而會引起騷亂，於是拿了一盆水來，在眾人面前洗手，說：「流這義人的血，罪不在我，你們自己負責。」

上帝使無罪的基督擔當我們的罪，使我們可以藉著基督成為被上帝接納的義人。

而是靠無瑕無疵的代罪羔羊——基督的寶血。

更何況基督藉著永恆的靈把自己毫無瑕疵地獻給上帝呢？祂的血豈不更能洗淨我們的良心，使我們脫離導致滅亡的行為，以便事奉永活的上帝嗎？
