They will not be accepted for you because they are deformed and have a defect.”

An overseer, therefore, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, self-controlled, sensible, respectable, hospitable, an able teacher,not addicted to wine, not a bully but gentle, not quarrelsome, not greedy—

“ Woe to you, blind guides, who say,‘ Whoever takes an oath by the sanctuary, it means nothing. But whoever takes an oath by the gold of the sanctuary is bound by his oath.’Blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the sanctuary that sanctified the gold?

Blind people! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift?

For an overseer, as God’s administrator, must be blameless, not arrogant, not hot-tempered, not addicted to wine, not a bully, not greedy for money,

Furthermore, he must have a good reputation among outsiders, so that he does not fall into disgrace and the Devil’s trap.

Israel’s watchmen are blind, all of them, they know nothing; all of them are mute dogs, they cannot bark; they dream, lie down, and love to sleep.

For there are also many rebellious people, full of empty talk and deception, especially those from Judaism.
