“‘ You must therefore make a distinction between clean and unclean animals and between unclean and clean birds. Do not defile yourselves by any animal or bird or anything that moves along the ground— those that I have set apart as unclean for you.

“‘ So you must be able to tell the difference between animals that are“ clean” and those that are not. You must know which birds are“ clean” and which are not. Do not make yourselves“ unclean” by eating any“ unclean” animal or bird. Do not make yourselves“ unclean” by eating anything that moves along the ground. I have set all of them apart as“ unclean” for you.

You shall therefore separate the clean beast from the unclean, and the unclean bird from the clean. You shall not make yourselves detestable by beast or by bird or by anything with which the ground crawls, which I have set apart for you to hold unclean.

“ You must therefore make a distinction between ceremonially clean and unclean animals, and between clean and unclean birds. You must not defile yourselves by eating any unclean animal or bird or creature that scurries along the ground. I have identified them as being unclean for you.

Therefore you are to distinguish the clean animal from the unclean one, and the unclean bird from the clean one. Do not become contaminated by any land animal, bird, or whatever crawls on the ground; I have set these apart as unclean for you.

You are therefore to make a distinction between the clean animal and the unclean, and between the unclean bird and the clean; and you shall not make yourselves detestable by animal or by bird, or by anything that crawls on the ground, which I have distinguished for you as unclean.

“ You shall not eat any detestable thing.These are the animals which you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat,the deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the mountain goat, the antelope, and the mountain sheep.And you may eat every animal with cloven hooves, having the hoof split into two parts, and that chews the cud, among the animals.Nevertheless, of those that chew the cud or have cloven hooves, you shall not eat, such as these: the camel, the hare, and the rock hyrax; for they chew the cud but do not have cloven hooves; they are unclean for you.Also the swine is unclean for you, because it has cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud; you shall not eat their flesh or touch their dead carcasses.“ These you may eat of all that are in the waters: you may eat all that have fins and scales.And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.“ All clean birds you may eat.But these you shall not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the buzzard,the red kite, the falcon, and the kite after their kinds;every raven after its kind;the ostrich, the short-eared owl, the seagull, and the hawk after their kinds;the little owl, the screech owl, the white owl,the jackdaw, the carrion vulture, the fisher owl,the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe and the bat.“ Also every creeping thing that flies is unclean for you; they shall not be eaten.“ You may eat all clean birds.“ You shall not eat anything that dies of itself; you may give it to the alien who is within your gates, that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner; for you are a holy people to the Lord your God.“ You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.

Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them,“ Speak to the children of Israel, saying,‘ These are the animals which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth:Among the animals, whatever divides the hoof, having cloven hooves and chewing the cud— that you may eat.Nevertheless these you shall not eat among those that chew the cud or those that have cloven hooves: the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you;the rock hyrax, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you;the hare, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you;and the swine, though it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud, is unclean to you.Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch. Everyone who touches it shall be unclean.And whatever goes on its paws, among all kinds of animals that go on all fours, those are unclean to you. Whoever touches any such carcass shall be unclean until evening.Whoever carries any such carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until evening. It is unclean to you.‘ These also shall be unclean to you among the creeping things that creep on the earth: the mole, the mouse, and the large lizard after its kind;the gecko, the monitor lizard, the sand reptile, the sand lizard, and the chameleon.These are unclean to you among all that creep. Whoever touches them when they are dead shall be unclean until evening.Anything on which any of them falls, when they are dead shall be unclean, whether it is any item of wood or clothing or skin or sack, whatever item it is, in which any work is done, it must be put in water. And it shall be unclean until evening; then it shall be clean.Any earthen vessel into which any of them falls you shall break; and whatever is in it shall be unclean:in such a vessel, any edible food upon which water falls becomes unclean, and any drink that may be drunk from it becomes unclean.And everything on which a part of any such carcass falls shall be unclean; whether it is an oven or cooking stove, it shall be broken down; for they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.Nevertheless a spring or a cistern, in which there is plenty of water, shall be clean, but whatever touches any such carcass becomes unclean.And if a part of any such carcass falls on any planting seed which is to be sown, it remains clean.But if water is put on the seed, and if a part of any such carcass falls on it, it becomes unclean to you.‘ And if any animal which you may eat dies, he who touches its carcass shall be unclean until evening.He who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until evening. He also who carries its carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until evening.‘ And every creeping thing that creeps on the earth shall be an abomination. It shall not be eaten.Whatever crawls on its belly, whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet among all creeping things that creep on the earth— these you shall not eat, for they are an abomination.You shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creeps; nor shall you make yourselves unclean with them, lest you be defiled by them.For I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth.For I am the Lord who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.‘ This is the law of the animals and the birds and every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the earth,to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, and between the animal that may be eaten and the animal that may not be eaten.’”

Then he said to them,“ You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Therefore do not be partakers with them.For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light( for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth.In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air.And a voice came to him,“ Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”But Peter said,“ Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”And a voice spoke to him again the second time,“ What God has cleansed you must not call common.”
