“‘ Do not go about spreading slander among your people.“‘ Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the Lord.

“‘ Do not go around spreading lies among your people.“‘ Do not do anything that puts your neighbor’s life in danger. I am the Lord.

You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand up against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord.

“ Do not spread slanderous gossip among your people.“ Do not stand idly by when your neighbor’s life is threatened. I am the Lord.

Do not go about spreading slander among your people; do not jeopardize your neighbor’s life; I am the LORD.

You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people; and you are not to jeopardize the life of your neighbor. I am the Lord.

You shall not go about as a talebearer among your people; nor shall you take a stand against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord.

Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor: I am Jehovah.

爾中有人行讒毀為殺人流血、爾中有人食於山上獻偶像之祭物、爾中有人行諸邪淫、

往來談人是非者、必洩人之秘事、多言之人、勿與之交、

使匪類二人對拿伯而坐、作證訟之曰、爾詛神與王、遂曳之出、以石擊之死、拿伯之邑人、即居於其邑之長老與顯者、遵耶洗別書所言而行、傳令禁食、使拿伯坐於民間高位、有匪類二人入、對拿伯而坐、在民前作證訟拿伯曰、拿伯詛神與王、乃曳之邑外、以石擊之死、

口無讒言、不虐待友朋、不毀謗鄰里、

往來談人是非者、必洩人之秘事、惟心誠者必隱人之私情、

彼皆悖逆特甚、皆讒毀人者、皆若銅若鐵、皆作惡者、

當謹防鄰里、勿信兄弟、因兄弟相欺、鄰里讒毀、

乃賄人使流言云、我聞此人出言褻瀆摩西及天主、又聳動百姓與長老及經士、突來執之、曳至公會、設妄證者曰、此人褻瀆聖所與律法不已、

毋妄證以陷人、

故爾當去一切暴狠、詭譎、偽善、嫉妒、及諸毀謗、

但不得、雖多妄證者來、亦不得其證、後有二妄證者至、曰、此人曾言我能毀天主殿、三日內復建之、

今不敢煩瑣、第求寛容、聽我片言、蓋我儕見此人如癘疫然、震動擾亂天下之猶太人、為拿撒勒異道之黨首領之一、彼欲污聖殿、我儕執之、將按我律法審之、惟千夫長呂西亞忽至、強甚、於我手中奪之去、命訟之者就爾、爾審問之、則可知我儕所訟諸端、猶太人從而和之曰、事誠如是、

無情、背約、背約或作不解怨好讒、縱慾、殘酷、惡善、惡善或作惡為善者

其妻亦當端莊、勿讒毀、謹慎自守、凡事忠誠、

曰、我賣無辜者之血有罪矣、眾曰、此與我儕何與、爾自當之、

老婦所為、亦當合乎聖虔、勿讒毀、勿嗜酒、以善教人、
