不可咒罵聾子，也不可將絆腳石放在瞎子面前，只要敬畏你的神。我是耶和華。

“‘ Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the Lord.

“‘ Do not ask for bad things to happen to deaf people. Do not put anything in front of blind people that will make them trip. Instead, have respect for me. I am the Lord your God.

其實食物不能叫神看中我們，因為我們不吃也無損，吃也無益。只是你們要謹慎，恐怕你們這自由竟成了那軟弱人的絆腳石。若有人見你這有知識的，在偶像的廟裏坐席，這人的良心若是軟弱，豈不放膽去吃那祭偶像之物嗎？因此，基督為他死的那軟弱弟兄，也就因你的知識沉淪了。你們這樣得罪弟兄們，傷了他們軟弱的良心，就是得罪基督。所以，食物若叫我弟兄跌倒，我就永遠不吃肉，免得叫我弟兄跌倒了。

務要尊敬眾人，親愛教中的弟兄，敬畏神，尊敬君王。

所以，我們不可再彼此論斷，寧可定意誰也不給弟兄放下絆腳跌人之物。

不拘是猶太人，是希臘人，是神的教會，你們都不要使他跌倒；

逼迫你們的，要給他們祝福；只要祝福，不可咒詛。

在我以前的省長加重百姓的擔子，每日索要糧食和酒，並銀子四十舍客勒，就是他們的僕人也轄制百姓；但我因敬畏神不這樣行。

到第三天，約瑟對他們說：「我是敬畏神的；你們照我的話行就可以存活。

然而，有幾件事我要責備你：因為在你那裏有人服從了巴蘭的教訓；這巴蘭曾教導巴勒將絆腳石放在以色列人面前，叫他們吃祭偶像之物，行姦淫的事。

你們既稱那不偏待人、按各人行為審判人的主為父，就當存敬畏的心度你們在世寄居的日子，
