於是雅各這樣作了。他與利亞七天的慶典過了以後，拉班就把自己的女兒拉結給雅各為妻。

拉麥娶了兩個妻子，一個名叫亞大，另一個名叫洗拉。

其中五幅幔子要彼此相連，另外五幅幔子也要彼此相連。

神所作的不是一個嗎？其餘的氣息都是屬於他的。那一個尋求甚麼呢？就是神的子孫。（本節原文意思不確定）所以要謹守你們的靈性，不可對年輕時所娶的妻子不忠。

利亞回答拉結：“你奪去了我的丈夫，還算小事嗎？你還要奪去我兒子的風茄嗎？”拉結說：“好吧，今夜就讓他與你同睡，來交換你兒子的風茄。”
