他要穿上聖潔的細麻內袍、細麻褲子，束上細麻腰帶，戴上細麻禮冠。這些是聖潔的衣物，他必須沐浴後才可穿戴。

律法因為人性軟弱而無法成就的事，上帝親自成就了。祂差遣自己的兒子成為和罪人一樣有血有肉的人，作了贖罪祭，廢掉了罪的權勢，

祂雖然本質上是上帝，卻沒有緊緊抓住自己與上帝平等的地位不放，反而甘願放下一切，取了奴僕的形像，降生為人的樣子。祂以人的樣子出現後，就自願卑微，順服至死，而且死在十字架上。因此，上帝將祂升為至尊，賜給祂超乎萬名之上的名，使一切天上的、地上的和地底下的，無不屈膝跪拜在耶穌的名下，無不口稱耶穌基督是主，將榮耀歸於父上帝。

同樣，基督為了承擔世人的罪，也曾一次獻上自己。祂還要再來，不是來除罪，而是來拯救那些熱切等候祂的人。
