He is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites— all their sins— and put them on the goat’s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task.

He must place both of his hands on its head. While he does that, he must tell me about all the sins the Israelites have committed. He must tell me about all their evil acts and the times they did not obey me. In that way he puts their sins on the goat’s head. Then he will send the goat away into the desert. The goat will be led away by a man appointed to do it.

And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the people of Israel, and all their transgressions, all their sins. And he shall put them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness.

He will lay both of his hands on the goat’s head and confess over it all the wickedness, rebellion, and sins of the people of Israel. In this way, he will transfer the people’s sins to the head of the goat. Then a man specially chosen for the task will drive the goat into the wilderness.

因為我知道我的過犯；我的罪常在我面前。

我向你陳明我的罪，不隱瞞我的惡。我說：「我要向耶和華承認我的過犯」；你就赦免我的罪惡。（細拉）

遮掩自己過犯的，必不順利；承認且離棄過犯的，必蒙憐憫。

願你睜眼看，側耳聽你僕人今日晝夜在你面前，為你眾僕人以色列人的祈禱，承認我們以色列人向你所犯的罪；我與我父家都犯了罪。我們向你所行的非常敗壞，沒有遵守你吩咐你僕人摩西的誡命、律例、典章。

以斯拉禱告，認罪，哭泣，俯伏在神殿前的時候，有以色列中的男女和孩童聚集到以斯拉那裏，成了一個盛大的會，百姓無不痛哭。

因為，人心裏信就可以稱義，口裏宣認就可以得救。

「你要把公牛牽到會幕前，亞倫和他的兒子要按手在公牛的頭上。

我面向主神，禁食，披麻蒙灰，懇切禱告祈求。我向耶和華－我的神祈禱、認罪，說：「主啊，你是大而可畏的神，向愛主、守主誡命的人守約施慈愛。我們犯罪作惡，行惡叛逆，偏離你的誡命典章，沒有聽從你僕人眾先知奉你的名向我們君王、官長、祖先和這地所有百姓所說的話。主啊，你是公義的，但我們猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民，並你所趕到各國的以色列眾人，不論遠近，因為背叛了你，臉上蒙羞，正如今日一樣。耶和華啊，我們和我們的君王、官長、祖先因得罪了你，臉上就都蒙羞。主－我們的神是憐憫饒恕人的，我們卻違背了他，沒有聽從耶和華－我們神的話，沒有遵行他藉僕人眾先知向我們頒佈的律法。以色列眾人都犯了你的律法，偏離、不聽從你的話；因此，你僕人摩西律法上所寫的詛咒和誓言傾倒在我們身上，因我們得罪了神。神使大災禍臨到我們，實現了警戒我們和審判我們官長的話；原來耶路撒冷所遭遇的災禍是普天之下未曾有過的。這一切災禍臨到我們，是照摩西律法上所寫的，我們卻沒有求耶和華－我們神的恩惠，使我們回轉離開罪孽，明白你的真理。所以耶和華特意使這災禍臨到我們，耶和華－我們的神在他所行的事上都是公義的；我們並沒有聽從他的話。主－我們的神啊，你曾用大能的手領你的子民出埃及地，使自己得了名聲，正如今日一樣，現在，我們犯了罪，作了惡。主啊，求你按你豐盛的公義，使你的怒氣和憤怒轉離你的城耶路撒冷，就是你的聖山。因我們的罪惡和我們祖先的罪孽，耶路撒冷和你的子民被四圍的人羞辱。我們的神啊，現在求你垂聽你僕人的祈禱懇求，為你自己的緣故使你的臉向荒涼的聖所發光。我的神啊，求你側耳而聽，睜眼而看，眷顧我們那荒涼之地和稱為你名下的城。我們在你面前懇求，不是因自己的義，而是因你豐富的憐憫。主啊，求你垂聽！主啊，求你赦免！主啊，求你側耳，求你實行！為你自己的緣故不要遲延。我的神啊，因這城和這民都是稱為你名下的。」我正說話、禱告，承認我的罪和我百姓以色列的罪，為我神的聖山，在耶和華－我的神面前懇求；

當他在這其中的一件事上有罪的時候，就要承認所犯的罪，

「他們要承認自己的罪孽和祖先的罪孽，就是背叛我，行事與我作對的過犯。

他要按手在燔祭牲的頭上，為自己贖罪，就蒙悅納。

那日的四分之一，他們站在自己的地方念耶和華－他們神的律法書，又在那日的四分之一認罪，敬拜耶和華－他們的神。耶書亞、巴尼、甲篾、示巴尼、布尼、示利比、巴尼、基拿尼站在利未人的臺階上，大聲哀求耶和華－他們的神。利未人耶書亞、甲篾、巴尼、哈沙尼、示利比、荷第雅、示巴尼、毗他希雅說：「起來，稱頌耶和華－你們的神，永世無盡：『你榮耀之名是應當稱頌的，超乎一切稱頌和讚美。
