He is to put the incense on the fire before the Lord, and the smoke of the incense will conceal the atonement cover above the tablets of the covenant law, so that he will not die.

He must put the incense on the fire in my sight. The smoke from the incense will hide the cover of the ark where the tablets of the covenant law are kept. The cover is the place where sin is paid for. Aaron must burn the incense so that he will not die.

and put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is over the testimony, so that he does not die.

There in the Lord’s presence he will put the incense on the burning coals so that a cloud of incense will rise over the Ark’s cover— the place of atonement— that rests on the Ark of the Covenant. If he follows these instructions, he will not die.

『你要作一座壇做燒香的地方，用皂莢木來作。

亞倫要燒芬芳的香在壇上：早晨修整燈的時候、他要燒這香；傍晚時分、亞倫點燈的時候，他也要燒這香，做你們在永恆主面前代代不斷的香。

那麼我們既有一位尊大的、經過了諸天的大祭司、上帝的兒子耶穌，我們就該執守這信認。因為我們的大祭司並不是一位不能同情於我們的種種軟弱的，乃是一位在各方面同樣受過試誘、卻沒有罪的。所以我們只管坦然無懼進到恩惠之寶座前，好領受憐憫，取得恩惠、做及時的援助。

明天你們要在永恆主面前、把火盛在爐中，把香放在上面；永恆主揀選誰，誰就分別為聖。利未子孫哪，你們過分了。』

亞倫和他兒子們進會棚、或挨近祭壇，在聖所供職的時候、要穿上，免得他們擔受罪罰而死。這要給亞倫和他以後的苗裔做永遠的條例。

摩西對亞倫說：『拿那香爐，把祭壇上取的火盛在那裏頭，又放上香，趕快走到會眾那裏，為他們行除罪禮，因為有神的震怒從永恆主面前發出，疫病已經發作了。』

另有一位天使來了，站在祭壇旁邊，執有着金香爐；有許多香給了他，好跟眾聖徒的禱告一同獻在寶座前的金壇上。那香的煙同眾聖徒的禱告、由天使手中一同上升、在上帝面前。

因此凡藉着他而進到上帝面前的人、他都能拯救到底；因為他總是活着、替他們請求。

於是他們各人就拿着自己的香爐，盛上火，放上香，去站在會棚的出入處；摩西、亞倫也這樣作。

因為基督並不是進了人手造的聖所、真聖所的模型、乃是進了上天本境，如今替我們顯在上帝面前的。

所以他們要守我所吩咐守的，免得他們因褻瀆了聖物、以此擔當罪罰而死；我永恆主是把他們分別為聖的。
