「他挖出石頭，刮了屋子，塗抹以後，霉若又在屋子裏出現，

雖然我想潔淨你污穢的淫行，你卻不潔淨，你的污穢再也不能潔淨，直等我止息了向你發的憤怒。

這樣的人是你們愛筵上的污點；他們無所懼怕地同你們宴樂，彷彿牧人只顧餵飽自己。他們是無雨的浮雲，被風飄蕩；是秋天沒有果子的樹，死而又死，連根被拔出來；

倘若他們因認識我們的主和救主耶穌基督而得以脫離世上的污穢，後來又被污穢纏住，被制伏，他們末後的景況就比先前更不好了。

俗語說得好，這話正印證在他們身上了：「狗轉過來吃自己所吐的；」又說：「豬洗淨了，又回到爛泥裏打滾。」

他們極其悖逆，到處毀謗人，他們是銅是鐵，全都敗壞了。風箱吹火，鉛被燒燬，煉而又煉，終是徒然，因為惡劣的還未除掉。人必稱他們為被拋棄的銀子，因為耶和華已經拋棄了他們。

論到那些已經蒙了光照、嘗過天恩的滋味、又於聖靈有份、並嘗過神的話的美味，和來世權能的人，若再離棄真道，就不可能使他們重新懊悔了；因為他們親自把神的兒子重釘十字架，公然羞辱他。
