“ Suppose a man loses all the hair on his head. Then he is‘ clean.’

如髮脫落、則屬頭童、其人為潔、

如髮脫落、則為頭童、其人為潔。

人若首髮脫落、第禿其頂後、其人為潔、

“ A man who has lost his hair and is bald is clean.

“ If a man’s hair falls out from his head, he is bald; he is clean.

“ If a man loses his hair and his head becomes bald, he is still ceremonially clean.

“ If a man loses the hair of his head, he is bald, but he is clean.

“ Now if a man loses the hair of his head, he is only bald; he is clean.

“ As for the man whose hair has fallen from his head, he is bald, but he is clean.

And if a man’s hair be fallen off his head, he is bald; yet is he clean.

“ If a man loses the hair of his head, he is bald, but he is clean.

And the man whose hair is fallen off his head, he[ is] bald;[ yet is] he clean.

“ When a man’s head is bare so that he is balding in back, he is clean.

“ If a man’s hair has fallen from his head, he is bald. He is clean.

Suppose he loses only the hair on the front of his head. Then he is‘ clean.’

Remember when I first preached the good news to you? Remember I did that because I was sick.

His head is like the purest gold. His hair is wavy and as black as a raven.

Because you are human, you find this hard to understand. So I am using an everyday example to help you understand. You used to give yourselves to be slaves to unclean living. You were becoming more and more evil. Now give yourselves to be slaves to right living. Then you will become holy.

If Christ lives in you, you will live. Though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life. The Spirit does this because you have been made right with God.

I will turn your holy feasts into times for mourning. I will turn all your songs into weeping. You will have to wear the clothing of sadness. You will shave your heads. I will make you mourn as if your only son had died. The end of that time will be like a bitter day.”

The people of Dibon go up to their temple to worship. They go to their high places to weep. The people of Moab cry over the cities of Nebo and Medeba. All their heads are shaved. All their beards have been cut off.

So don’t let sin rule your body, which is going to die. Don’t obey its evil desires.

Elisha left Jericho and went up to Bethel. He was walking along the road. Some boys came out of the town. They made fun of him.“ Get out of here, baldy!” they said.“ Get out of here! You don’t even have any hair on your head!”
