但红肿的肉若是再复原，又变成白，他就要到祭司那里，

按着热诚来说，我是迫害教会的；按着律法上的义来说，我是无可指摘的。然而以前对我有益的，现在因着基督的缘故，我都当作是有损的。不但这样，我也把万事当作是有损的，因为我以认识我主基督耶稣为至宝。为了他，我把万事都抛弃了，看作废物，为了要得着基督。

我从前是亵渎神的、迫害人的、凌辱人的，然而我还蒙了怜悯，因为我是在不信的时候，由于无知而作的。我们主的恩典，随着在基督耶稣里的信心和爱心，在我身上越发增加。“基督耶稣降世，为要拯救罪人。”这话是可信的，是值得完全接纳的。在罪人中我是个罪魁。

我们知道律法是属灵的，我却是属肉体的，已经卖给罪了。因为我所作的，我不明白；我所愿意的，我没有去作，我所恨恶的，我倒去作。如果我所不愿意的，我倒去作，我就不得不承认律法是好的。既是这样，那就不是我作的，而是住在我里面的罪作的。我知道在我里面，就是在我肉体之中，没有良善，因为立志行善由得我，行出来却由不得我。所以我愿意行的善，我没有去行；我不愿意作的恶，我倒去作了。我若作自己不愿意作的事，那就不是我作的，而是住在我里面的罪作的。因此，我发现了一个律，就是我想向善的时候，恶就在我里面出现。按着我里面的人来说，我是喜欢神的律，但我发觉肢体中另有一个律，和我心中的律争战，把我掳去附从肢体中的罪律。我这个人真是苦啊！谁能救我脱离这使我死亡的身体呢？

怎样在犹太教中比许多本族同辈的人更激进，为我祖先的传统分外热心。然而，当我在母腹里就把我分别出来，又用他的恩呼召我的那一位，既然乐意把自己的儿子启示给我，使我可以在外族人中传扬他，我就没有和任何人（“人”原文作“肉和血”）商量，
