“ Do not drink wine or strong drink, you and your sons with you, when you enter into the Meeting Tent, so that you do not die, which is a perpetual statute throughout your generations,

爾與眾子、入會幕時、清酒醇醪勿飲、恐爾死亡、以此著為永例、歷世勿替。

爾與爾子孫入會幕時、酒與凡醉人者毋飲、免爾死亡、是為爾曹歷代永定之例、

“ You and your sons are not to drink wine or other fermented drink whenever you go into the tent of meeting, or you will die. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come,

“ You and your sons will go into the tent of meeting. When you do, you must not drink any kind of wine. If you do, you will die. This is a law that will last for all time to come.

“ Drink no wine or strong drink, you or your sons with you, when you go into the tent of meeting, lest you die. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.

“ You and your descendants must never drink wine or any other alcoholic drink before going into the Tabernacle. If you do, you will die. This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation.

“ You and your sons are not to drink wine or beer when you enter the tent of meeting, or else you will die; this is a permanent statute throughout your generations.

“ Do not drink wine or strong drink, neither you nor your sons with you, when you come into the tent of meeting, so that you do not die— it is a permanent statute throughout your generations—

“ Do not drink wine or intoxicating drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations,

Drink no wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tent of meeting, that ye die not: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:

“ You and your sons are not to drink wine or beer when you enter the tent of meeting, or else you will die; this is a permanent statute throughout your generations.

Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die:[ it shall be] a statute for ever throughout your generations:

“ You and your sons are not to drink wine or strong drink whenever you go into the Tent of Meeting, or you will die. This shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.

not a drunkard, not violent, but gentle, not contentious, free from the love of money.

for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He must never drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth.

And do not get drunk with wine, which is debauchery, but be filled by the Spirit,

For the overseer must be blameless as one entrusted with God’s work, not arrogant, not prone to anger, not a drunkard, not violent, not greedy for gain.

Even these men stagger because of wine, they stumble around because of beer– priests and prophets stagger because of beer, they are confused because of wine, they stumble around because of beer; they stagger while seeing prophetic visions, they totter while making legal decisions.

No priest may drink wine when he enters the inner court.

Deacons likewise must be dignified, not two- faced, not given to excessive drinking, not greedy for gain,

he must separate himself from wine and strong drink, he must drink neither vinegar made from wine nor vinegar made from strong drink, nor may he drink any juice of grapes, nor eat fresh grapes or raisins.

Old and new wine take away the understanding of my people.

then the priest must wave them as a wave offering before the LORD; it is a holy portion for the priest, together with the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the raised offering. After this the Nazirite may drink wine.’

It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for rulers to crave strong drink,lest they drink and forget what is decreed, and remove from all the poor their legal rights.

( Stop drinking just water, but use a little wine for your digestion and your frequent illnesses.)

Wine is a mocker and strong drink is a brawler; whoever goes astray by them is not wise.

This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all the places where you live: You must never eat any fat or any blood.’”

Then I set cups and pitchers full of wine in front of the members of the Rechabite community and said to them,“ Have some wine.”But they answered,“ We do not drink wine because our ancestor Jonadab son of Rechab commanded us not to. He told us,‘ You and your children must never drink wine.
