在猶大諸邑、耶路撒冷逵衢、不聞懽忭之聲、新娶者及新婦之音、遍地荒蕪、我使之然。

越至於今、年少於我者、反加訕笑、彼之父兄、自我視之、比之守羊之犬、不若也。

郇邑長老坐於塗炭、緘口無言、首蒙灰、腰束麻、耶路撒冷處女、俯首至地兮。

大會既屆、無人詣郇邑兮、逵衢荒寂、邑門零落兮、祭司吁嗟、處女憂愁、邑眾困苦兮。

鼓琴作樂、品簫吹角之音、不復聞於爾間、百工不復居於爾間、磨聲不再聞於爾間、

我出入邑門、備位公庭、少者見我而趨避、老者見我而起待、同官肅然無譁、長者拑口、齦閉舌卷。聞我者祝嘏、見我者揄揚、蓋貧乏孤獨、籲呼望救、我無不援手。危者見救而祝謝、嫠者見助而欣喜、我以仁義為衣服、以公正為冠冕、我為瞽者之目、跛者之足、我濟困乏、猶父之慈子、疏者我為之理其事、為惡之人、我折其齒、奪其所噬於口、

謳歌必息、琴瑟不聞、我使之然、

葡萄之樹、枝葉全枯、新釀之酒、臭味俱變、昔之懽愉者、今則慨嘆、播鼗鼓琴者無人欣喜、歡忭已止、飲酒之時、不再謳歌、以醇醪為甚苦、毀其城垣、鍵其宅第、無人得入、歡樂變為憂戚、通衢之民號呼、欲飲酒以消愁、

不聞懽忭之言、新娶者及新婦之音、旋磨之聲不徹於外、燈火之光不耀於內、我使之然。

萬有之主以色列族之上帝耶和華曰、斯時也、四境之內、必無懽忭之聲、不聞新娶者、與新娶之音、我使之然、爾躬逢其事。

我鼓琴以寄哀、我吹簫而泣訴。

我招良朋、不副予望、祭司長老、惟求糈糧、以果其腹兮、求而不得、亡於邑中兮。
