“耶和华必使你在仇敌面前溃败。你从一条路去攻击他们，必从七条路逃跑。地上万国必因你而惊骇。

所以，耶和华使迦勒底人的王来攻击他们，在他们圣殿里用刀杀了他们的壮丁，不怜悯他们的少男少女、老人长者。耶和华把所有的人都交在他手里。

他们火爆的烈怒可诅，他们凶残的愤恨可咒！我要把他们分散在雅各中，使他们散居在以色列。

不像我拉着他们祖宗的手领他们出埃及地的时候，与他们所立的约；因为他们不恒心守我的约，所以我也不理他们；这是主说的。

我曾说，我要粉碎他们，使他们的名从人间消失。

耶和华必把你们分散在万民中，从地的这边到地的另一边，在那里你必事奉你和你列祖不认识的神明，就是木头和石头。在那些国中，你必得不到安宁，脚掌也没有安歇之处；耶和华却要使你在那里心中发颤，眼目失明，精神沮丧。

我必使他们在地上万国中成为恐惧，成为灾祸，在我赶逐他们到的各处成为凌辱、笑柄、讥笑、诅咒的对象。

我必使地上万国因他们而惊骇，都因希西家的儿子犹大王玛拿西在耶路撒冷所做的事。”

然而，他听见他们哀告的时候，就眷顾他们的急难，

我要把你们驱散到列国中，也要拔刀追赶你们。你们的地要成为荒凉，你们的城镇要变成废墟。“当你们在敌人之地的时候，你们的地要在一切荒凉的日子重享安息；在那时候，地要休息，重享安息。地在一切荒凉的日子都要安息，这是你们住在其上的时候所不能得的安息。至于你们幸存的人，我要使他们在敌人之地心中惊慌，甚至风吹落叶的声音也把他们吓跑。他们要逃避，像人逃避刀剑，虽无人追赶，却要跌倒。虽然无人追赶，他们却要彼此绊倒，像逃避刀剑一样。你们在仇敌面前必站立不住。你们要在列国中灭亡，敌人之地要吞灭你们，你们幸存的人必因自己的罪孽在敌人之地衰残，也要因祖先的罪孽衰残。
