Water flooded over my head, and I thought,“ I’m going to die!”

众水流过我头，我说：“我命断绝了！”

众水淹没我的头，我说：“我没命了！”

水已经漫过我的头，我想我要灭亡了。

the waters closed over my head, and I thought I was about to perish.

The water rose and covered my head. I thought I was going to die.

When you threw me into the depths, into the heart of the seas, the current overcame me. All your breakers and your billows swept over me.And I said,“ I have been banished from your sight, yet I will look once more toward your holy temple.”The water engulfed me up to the neck; the watery depths overcame me; seaweed was wrapped around my head.

Then he said to me,“ Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Look how they say,‘ Our bones are dried up, and our hope has perished; we are cut off.’

Don’t let the floodwaters sweep over me or the deep swallow me up; don’t let the Pit close its mouth over me.

Then I thought,“ My future is lost, as well as my hope from the LORD.”

Then the water would have engulfed us; the torrent would have swept over us;the raging water would have swept over us.

The ropes of death were wrapped around me; the torrents of destruction terrified me.

I said: In the prime of my life I must go to the gates of Sheol; I am deprived of the rest of my years.I said: I will never see the LORD, the LORD in the land of the living; I will not look on humanity any longer with the inhabitants of what is passing away.My dwelling is plucked up and removed from me like a shepherd’s tent. I have rolled up my life like a weaver; he cuts me off from the loom. By nightfall you make an end of me.I thought until the morning: He will break all my bones like a lion. By nightfall you make an end of me.

In my alarm I said,“ I am cut off from your sight.” But you heard the sound of my pleading when I cried to you for help.

Save me, God, for the water has risen to my neck.I have sunk in deep mud, and there is no footing; I have come into deep water, and a flood sweeps over me.

We don’t want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of our affliction that took place in Asia. We were completely overwhelmed— beyond our strength— so that we even despaired of life itself.Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death, so that we would not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.He has delivered us from such a terrible death, and he will deliver us. We have put our hope in him that he will deliver us again

My days have slipped by; my plans have been ruined, even the things dear to my heart.They turned night into day and made light seem near in the face of darkness.If I await Sheol as my home, spread out my bed in darkness,and say to corruption,“ You are my father,” and to the maggot,“ My mother” or“ My sister,”where then is my hope? Who can see any hope for me?Will it go down to the gates of Sheol, or will we descend together to the dust?
