我必用量撒瑪利亞的準繩和亞哈家的鉛垂線拉在耶路撒冷之上；我必擦拭耶路撒冷，如人擦盤子，把盤子翻過來。

他又指示我一件事，看哪，主手拿鉛垂線，站立在依鉛垂線建好的牆邊。耶和華對我說：「阿摩司，你看見甚麼？」我說：「鉛垂線。」主說：「看哪，我要在我子民以色列中吊起鉛垂線，不再寬恕他們。

我以公平為準繩，以公義為鉛垂線；冰雹必沖去謊言的避難所，大水必漫過藏身之處。

現在我告訴你們，我要向我的葡萄園怎麼做。我必撤去籬笆，使它被燒燬；拆毀圍牆，使它被踐踏。

就是把你的手縮回，遠離我身；又不使你的威嚴恐嚇我。

主如仇敵吞滅以色列，吞滅它一切的宮殿，毀壞境內的堡壘；在猶大加添悲傷和哭號。

但我卻縮手而未如此行；我這麼做是為了我名的緣故，免得我的名在列國眼中被褻瀆，因為在這些列國眼前我領了他們出來。
