But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid[ his] face from you, that he will not hear.For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.None calleth for justice, nor[ any] pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.They hatch cockatrice’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works[ are] works of iniquity, and the act of violence[ is] in their hands.Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts[ are] thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction[ are] in their paths.The way of peace they know not; and[ there is] no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness,[ but] we walk in darkness.We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if[ we had] no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night;[ we are] in desolate places as dead[ men].We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but[ there is] none; for salvation,[ but] it is far off from us.For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions[ are] with us; and[ as for] our iniquities, we know them;In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

Behold, O LORD; for I[ am] in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaveth, at home[ there is] as death.They have heard that I sigh:[ there is] none to comfort me: all mine enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that thou hast done[ it]: thou wilt bring the day[ that] thou hast called, and they shall be like unto me.Let all their wickedness come before thee; and do unto them, as thou hast done unto me for all my transgressions: for my sighs[ are] many, and my heart[ is] faint.

All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for meat to relieve the soul: see, O LORD, and consider; for I am become vile.

And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered,[ and] thy heels made bare.

Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame may appear.

The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her gates are desolate: her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she[ is] in bitterness.Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the LORD hath afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.

And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for[ their] hurt,[ to be] a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.

Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.

And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for[ that] which he did in Jerusalem.

Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed[ that] thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

If they sin against thee,( for[ there is] no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;[ Yet] if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and[ that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:

And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.

They[ are] all grievous revolters, walking with slanders:[ they are] brass and iron; they[ are] all corrupters.

For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.

They cried unto them, Depart ye;[ it is] unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn[ there].The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.

For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail,[ and] the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion,[ that] bewaileth herself,[ that] spreadeth her hands,[ saying], Woe[ is] me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.

And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil.

Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.The crown is fallen[ from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all[ them] that thou hast loved, with all[ them] that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the LORD, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.

The elders of the daughter of Zion sit upon the ground,[ and] keep silence: they have cast up dust upon their heads; they have girded themselves with sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground.

Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet[ thee as] a man.

Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.

Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come[ even] unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.[ Those that be] near, and[ those that be] far from thee, shall mock thee,[ which art] infamous[ and] much vexed.Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood.In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.In thee have they discovered their fathers’ nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour’s wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken[ it], and will do[ it].And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.
