After Judah’s people had suffered greatly, they were taken away as prisoners. Now they live among the nations. They can’t find any place to rest. All those who were chasing them have caught up with them. And they can’t get away.

耶和華將使爾散處於億兆中自地極至天涯、在彼必事他上帝、木石所作、即爾祖及爾素未識者。在異邦中、爾不獲寧宇、亦無駐足之所、耶和華在彼使爾心慄目盲、衷懷不懌。爾生命不能安保、為之懸慮、晝夜驚懼。因此災害、為爾心所懼、目所見、故朝必曰願得及夕、暮必曰願得及旦。

俘耶路撒冷群臣居民、豪傑之士、工作之輩、計一萬人、所遺者惟貧乏之人而已。以約雅斤、與王母、王后、宦豎、及有能力者、自耶路撒冷、擄至巴比倫、

侍衛長尼布撒剌擔、擄邑之遺民、及降於巴比倫王者、悉攜以去、

爾民三分之一、必亡於瘟疫饑饉、三分之一、必亡於鋒刃、三分之一、必散於四方、我亦襲之以白刃、

南方之邑、將閉不啟、猶大遍地、民人被虜、靡有孑遺。

侍衛長尼布撒喇擔、虜邑遺民、以及歸誠之卒、悉至巴比倫、

敵襲予後、不敢行於市廛、生命幾絶、末期伊邇兮。追予之人、捷於飛鷹、襲予於山巔、設伏於曠野兮。

主立於壇側、我觀之、聞其詞曰、擊柱頂、震門橛、俱當損毀、壓於眾首、眾之子孫、我必加誅戮、逃匿者無人、得免者無人、雖入陰府、我必取之、雖升天堂、我將降之、雖匿於加密之巔、我將搜而出之、雖藏於大海之底、我必使蛇嚙之、雖為敵所擄、我必使刃殺之、我恆鑒察、爾惟加以災害、不加以福祉、

爾曹猶有孑遺、處於敵國、必使爾心畏葸、風吹葉落、偶聞其聲、則懼而遁、若避鋒刃、即無追者、亦必隕沒。自相蹂躪、如擊以刃、拒敵無能。爾必危亡於異邦、並吞於敵國、爾曹猶有孑遺、處於敵國、為一己之愆尤、並前人之罪戾、日漸消亡。
