After Judah’s people had suffered greatly, they were taken away as prisoners. Now they live among the nations. They can’t find any place to rest. All those who were chasing them have caught up with them. And they can’t get away.

敌人步步紧逼，使我们不敢上自己的街。我们的结局近了，我们的日子到头了，我们的末日来了！追赶我们的人比飞鹰更快，他们在山上追捕我们，在旷野伏击我们。

我看见主站在祭坛旁，祂说：“要击打柱顶，使殿的根基震动；要打碎柱顶，使殿宇坍塌压死众人。侥幸生还的，我要用刀剑杀掉，没有一个能逃脱，没有一个能幸免。即使他们挖洞钻进阴间，我也要把他们揪出来；即使他们爬上高天，我也要把他们拉下来；即使他们藏在迦密山的峰顶，我也要去搜寻，捉住他们；即使他们潜到海底，我也要派海蛇去吞咬他们；即使他们被敌人掳去，我也要命刀剑追杀他们。我要定睛在他们身上，不是要赐福而是要降祸。”

“我要使你们当中的那些幸存者在敌国心惊胆战，过着风声鹤唳、惶恐不安的生活。即使无人追赶，他们也将仓皇逃命，互相绊倒，如同躲避刀剑一样。你们必无力抵挡敌人。你们将葬身列国，死在敌人的土地上。你们当中的幸存者将因自己的罪和祖先的罪而消亡在敌人的土地上。

巴比伦王在那里处死了他们。犹大人就这样被掳去，离开了家园。

耶和华说：“看啊，我要召来许多渔夫把他们捕捞上来，我要召来许多猎人去各山岭和岩穴猎取他们。

没有被杀戮的人都被掳往巴比伦，做他和他子孙的奴隶，直到波斯帝国的时代。这就应验了耶和华借耶利米之口所说的话：这片土地享受了安息，它在荒凉中守安息，直到满了七十年。
