The enemy laid hands on all her treasures; she saw pagan nations enter her sanctuary— those you had forbidden to enter your assembly.

Jerusalem’s enemies took away all her treasures. Her people saw outsiders enter her temple. The Lord had commanded them not to do that.

The enemy has stretched out his hands over all her precious things; for she has seen the nations enter her sanctuary, those whom you forbade to enter your congregation.

The enemy has plundered her completely, taking every precious thing she owns. She has seen foreigners violate her sacred Temple, the place the Lord had forbidden them to enter.

In addition to all your other detestable practices, you brought foreigners uncircumcised in heart and flesh into my sanctuary, desecrating my temple while you offered me food, fat and blood, and you broke my covenant. (niv)

“ When you see‘ the abomination that causes desolation’ standing where it does not belong— let the reader understand— then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. (niv)

The Babylonians broke up the bronze pillars, the movable stands and the bronze Sea that were at the temple of the Lord and they carried all the bronze to Babylon.They also took away the pots, shovels, wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, dishes and all the bronze articles used in the temple service.The commander of the imperial guard took away the basins, censers, sprinkling bowls, pots, lampstands, dishes and bowls used for drink offerings— all that were made of pure gold or silver.The bronze from the two pillars, the Sea and the twelve bronze bulls under it, and the movable stands, which King Solomon had made for the temple of the Lord, was more than could be weighed. He set fire to the temple of the Lord, the royal palace and all the houses of Jerusalem. Every important building he burned down. (niv)

O God, the nations have invaded your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple, they have reduced Jerusalem to rubble.They have left the dead bodies of your servants as food for the birds of the sky, the flesh of your own people for the animals of the wild.They have poured out blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there is no one to bury the dead.We are objects of contempt to our neighbors, of scorn and derision to those around us.How long, Lord? Will you be angry forever? How long will your jealousy burn like fire?Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the kingdoms that do not call on your name;for they have devoured Jacob and devastated his homeland. Therefore my people will go into exile for lack of understanding; those of high rank will die of hunger and the common people will be parched with thirst.Therefore Death expands its jaws, opening wide its mouth; into it will descend their nobles and masses with all their brawlers and revelers. For a little while your people possessed your holy place, but now our enemies have trampled down your sanctuary. (niv)

I will deliver all the wealth of this city into the hands of their enemies— all its products, all its valuables and all the treasures of the kings of Judah. They will take it away as plunder and carry it off to Babylon. (niv)

I will turn my face away from the people, and robbers will desecrate the place I treasure. They will enter it and will defile it. (niv)

“ Your wealth and your treasures I will give as plunder, without charge, because of all your sins throughout your country. (niv)

Then he said to them,“ Defile the temple and fill the courts with the slain. Go!” So they went out and began killing throughout the city. (niv)
