挪亞的日子怎樣，人子的日子也要怎樣。那時，人又吃又喝，又娶又嫁，直到挪亞進方舟的那日，洪水就來，把他們全都滅了。同樣，就像在羅得的日子，人又吃又喝，又買又賣，又耕種又建造，到羅得離開所多瑪的那日，有火與硫磺從天上降下來，把他們全都滅了。人子顯現的日子也要這樣。

當日，約書亞奪了瑪基大，用刀擊殺城中的人和王，把城中所有人完全滅盡，沒有留下一個倖存者。他處置瑪基大王，像從前處置耶利哥王一樣。
