但是有一個人名叫亞拿尼亞、同他的妻子撒非喇、變賣了田產，卻從價錢中私拿幾分（妻子也與知其事），而把一部分拿來，放在使徒腳旁。彼得說：『亞拿尼亞，為甚麼撒但充滿了你的心，以致你撒謊騙聖靈，從園地的價錢中私拿幾分呢？地還留着，所留的不是你的麼？既已賣了，不是在你權內麼？為甚麼你心裏起意去作這事呢？你不是撒謊騙人，乃是騙上帝啊！』亞拿尼亞聽見了這些話，就仆倒，斷了氣；所有聽見的人都大起敬畏的心。少年人們便起來，把他包裹好了，抬出去埋葬。約隔了三個鐘頭，他妻子還不知道所經過的、進來了。彼得應時對他說：『告訴我，你們賣掉園地、是不是這麼些？』她說：『是的，這麼些。』彼得對她說：『你們為甚麼同謀來試探主的靈呢？你看，那埋葬你丈夫的人的腳已經到門口，他們就要把你抬出去了。』那婦人立時仆倒在彼得腳前，斷了氣；青年人們進來，見她已經死了，就抬出去，埋葬在她丈夫旁邊。

倘若你們不這樣行，就是犯罪得罪了永恆主；你們總要認清你們的罪罰，罪罰是會把你們找出來的。

掃羅說：『在我和我兒子約拿單之間、你們再給拈下來吧』；約拿單就被拈着了。

『賊被捉拿着、怎樣慚愧，以色列家也必怎樣慚愧：他們、他們的列王和首領、他們的祭司和神言人、都慚愧；

災禍追趕着罪人；美福報給義者。
