And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel. So He delivered them into the hands of plunderers who despoiled them; and He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.

You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, And cannot look on wickedness. Why do You look on those who deal treacherously, And hold Your tongue when the wicked devours A person more righteous than he?

And Haggai said,“ If one who is unclean because of a dead body touches any of these, will it be unclean?” So the priests answered and said,“ It shall be unclean.”Then Haggai answered and said,“‘ so is this people, and so is this nation before Me,’ says the Lord,‘ and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.

“ So when these people or the prophet or the priest ask you, saying,‘ What is the oracle of the Lord?’ you shall then say to them,‘ What oracle?’ I will even forsake you,” says the Lord.

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.

So it was, when the Angel of the Lord spoke these words to all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voices and wept.

but that you must turn away this day from following the Lord? And it shall be, if you rebel today against the Lord, that tomorrow He will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel.Nevertheless, if the land of your possession is unclean, then cross over to the land of the possession of the Lord, where the LORD’s tabernacle stands, and take possession among us; but do not rebel against the Lord, nor rebel against us, by building yourselves an altar besides the altar of the Lord our God.Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? And that man did not perish alone in his iniquity.’”
