時、約書亞以誓戒眾曰、起而重建耶利哥城者、必服詛於耶和華、築基時、必喪長子、置門時、必喪季子、

於是約書亞誓曰、凡建耶利哥、當服詛於耶和華前、築基時、必喪長子、置門時、必喪季子。

At that time Joshua pronounced this solemn oath:“ Cursed before the Lord is the one who undertakes to rebuild this city, Jericho:“ At the cost of his firstborn son he will lay its foundations; at the cost of his youngest he will set up its gates.”

At that time Joshua made a promise and called down a curse. He said,“ May the person who tries to rebuild this city of Jericho be under the Lord’ s curse.“ If that person lays its foundations, it will cost the life of his oldest son. If he sets up its gates, it will cost the life of his youngest son.”

Joshua laid an oath on them at that time, saying,“ Cursed before the Lord be the man who rises up and rebuilds this city, Jericho.“ At the cost of his firstborn shall he lay its foundation, and at the cost of his youngest son shall he set up its gates.”

At that time Joshua invoked this curse:“ May the curse of the Lord fall on anyone who tries to rebuild the town of Jericho. At the cost of his firstborn son, he will lay its foundation. At the cost of his youngest son, he will set up its gates.”

At that time Joshua imposed this curse: The man who undertakes the rebuilding of this city, Jericho, is cursed before the LORD. He will lay its foundation at the cost of his firstborn; he will finish its gates at the cost of his youngest.

Then Joshua made them take an oath at that time, saying,“ Cursed before the Lord is the man who rises up and builds this city Jericho; with the loss of his firstborn he will lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he will set up its gates.”

Then Joshua charged them at that time, saying,“ Cursed be the man before the Lord who rises up and builds this city Jericho; he shall lay its foundation with his firstborn, and with his youngest he shall set up its gates.”

And Joshua charged them with an oath at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before Jehovah, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: with the loss of his first- born shall he lay the foundation thereof, and with the loss of his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.

At that time Joshua imposed this curse: The man who undertakes the rebuilding of this city, Jericho, is cursed before the Lord. He will lay its foundation at the cost of his firstborn; he will set up its gates at the cost of his youngest.

And Joshua adjured[ them] at that time, saying, Cursed[ be] the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest[ son] shall he set up the gates of it.

At that time Joshua made this solemn declaration:“ The man who attempts to rebuild this city of Jericho will stand condemned before the LORD. He will lose his firstborn son when he lays its foundations and his youngest son when he erects its gates!”

Joshua commanded them with an oath at that time, saying,“ Cursed is the man before Yahweh who rises up and builds this city Jericho. With the loss of his firstborn he will lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he will set up its gates.”

以東人若曰、我雖遭傾毀、我雖遭傾毀或作我雖貧乏傾圮之邑、必復建造、萬有之主如是云、任彼建造、我必毀之、人必稱其土為惡境、稱其民為主所永怒之民、

耶穌默然、大祭司曰、我令爾指永生天主誓而告我、爾果天主之子基督否、

時有遊行各處、誦咒驅魔之數猶太人、遇惡魔所憑者、試呼主耶穌名、曰、我藉保羅所傳之耶穌命爾出、

令婦發誓、使聞咒詛之言、謂之曰、若無人與爾行淫、爾未背夫行不正而被玷污、則可免受此致詛苦水之災、爾若背夫行不正而被玷污、在爾夫外、有人與爾同寢、則主必使爾股爛股爛或作髀消下同腹脹、於爾民中為人指以咒詛、指以發誓、

掃羅向民發誓曰、凡不俟我向敵盡報斯仇、不待暮而先食者、願其見詛、是日以色列人未嘗食物、遂甚困憊、眾民至林間、見地有蜜、民既入林、見蜜流於地、因畏誓言、無人敢以手取之入口、約拿單未聞其父向民所誓者、手執杖、以杖頭濡蜜、回手入於口、目即明矣、民中一人謂之曰、爾父曾向民發誓曰、凡今日食物物原文作餅者、願其見詛、因此民俱困憊、約拿單曰、我父累斯地矣、試觀我稍嘗此蜜、我目即明、民所得敵人之物、若今日任意而食、則殺非利士人、不尤眾乎、是日以色列人擊非利士人、自密抹直至亞耶倫、困憊益甚、民乃急取所得牛羊與牛犢宰於地、肉尚有血、民即食之、或告掃羅曰、民食有血之肉、獲罪於主、掃羅曰、爾曹犯罪、今當轉巨石於我前、掃羅又曰、爾散布民中、使民各以牛羊牽於我前、宰於此而食、勿食有血之肉、恐獲罪於主、是夜、民各牽牛宰之於彼、掃羅為主建祭臺、此乃掃羅始為主建祭臺、掃羅曰、不如乘夜追非利士人、掠其所有、擊之至於黎明、不留其一人、民曰、爾以為當如何行則行之、祭司曰、當在此至天主前、掃羅問於天主曰、我追非利士人可否、主付之於以色列人手否、是日天主不垂告、掃羅曰、惟爾民長、咸當來此、究察今日之罪因何故、或作今日誰干罪戾我指救以色列人永生之主而誓、犯罪者雖我子約拿單亦必死亡、民中無有應之者、掃羅謂以色列人曰、爾眾在彼、我與我子約拿單在此、民謂掃羅曰、爾以為當如何行則行之、掃羅禱以色列天主人曰之、求主指示其實、於是掣籤、得掃羅與約拿單、民皆無與、掃羅曰、我與我子約拿單間、可再掣籤、乃得約拿單、掃羅謂約拿單曰、爾何所為、明以告我、約拿單告之曰、我手執杖、以杖頭濡蜜少許而嘗之、我在此、如當死則死矣、掃羅曰、約拿單、必致爾於死、原文作爾必死若不然、願天主從重罰我、民謂掃羅曰、約拿單使以色列人獲如是之大勝、豈可致之死歟、斷乎不可、我儕指永生主而誓、其首之一髮、必不隕於地、其今日所行、乃蒙天主祐也、於是民救救原文作贖約拿單免於死亡、掃羅不復追非利士人而歸、非利士人亦歸故土、○

王謂之曰、我豈不屢使爾發誓、爾奉主名告我、惟以真實而告乎、
