But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho— and she lives among the Israelites to this day.

因着信，妓女喇合曾友善地接待探子，就沒有跟那些不順從的人一同滅亡。

撒門從喇合氏生波阿斯，波阿斯從路得氏生俄備得，俄備得生耶西，

同樣，妓女喇合接待使者，又放他們從另一條路出去，不也是因行為稱義嗎？

其實，這女人已經領二人上了屋頂，把他們藏在她擺列在屋頂的亞麻梗中。

那時，凡求告主名的都必得救。』

探子看見一個人從城裏出來，就對他說：「請你把進城的路指示我們，我們會厚待你。」那人把進城的路指示他們。他們就用刀擊殺了城中的居民，卻放走那人和他的全家。

除了希未人基遍的居民之外，沒有一城與以色列人講和，都是以色列人作戰奪來的。因為耶和華的意思是要使他們的心剛硬，來與以色列人作戰，好使他們全被殺滅，不蒙憐憫，反被除滅，正如耶和華所吩咐摩西的。

約書亞另外把十二塊石頭立在約旦河的中間，在抬約櫃祭司的腳站立的地方；直到今日，石頭還在那裏。
