約但西、亞摩哩列王、及海濱迦南列王、風聞其事、知耶和華於以色列族前、使水盡涸、待民悉濟、則喪其膽、毫無銳氣、懼以色列族。○

Now when all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the coast heard how the Lord had dried up the Jordan before the Israelites until they had crossed over, their hearts melted in fear and they no longer had the courage to face the Israelites.

All the Amorite and Canaanite kings heard how the Lord had dried up the Jordan River. They heard how he had dried it up for the Israelites until they had gone across it. The Amorite kings lived west of the Jordan. The kings of Canaan lived along the Mediterranean Sea. When all those kings heard what the Lord had done, they were terrified. They weren’t brave enough to face the Israelites anymore.

As soon as all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan for the people of Israel until they had crossed over, their hearts melted and there was no longer any spirit in them because of the people of Israel.

When all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings who lived along the Mediterranean coast heard how the Lord had dried up the Jordan River so the people of Israel could cross, they lost heart and were paralyzed with fear because of them.

When all the Amorite kings across the Jordan to the west and all the Canaanite kings near the sea heard how the LORD had dried up the water of the Jordan before the Israelites until they had crossed over, they lost heart and their courage failed because of the Israelites.

Now it came about when all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard how the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan before the sons of Israel until they had crossed, that their hearts melted, and there was no spirit in them any longer because of the sons of Israel.

And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, that were beyond the Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, that were by the sea, heard how that Jehovah had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.

When all the Amorite kings on the west side of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the seacoast heard how the LORD had dried up the water of the Jordan before the Israelites while they crossed, they lost their courage and could not even breathe for fear of the Israelites.

When all the kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, who were by the sea, heard how Yahweh had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel until we had crossed over, their heart melted, and there was no more spirit in them, because of the children of Israel.

有亞瑪力人住在南地；有赫人耶布斯人亞摩利人住在山地；有迦南人住在海邊、和約但河旁。』

他席上的食品、他臣僕的坐次、他聽差的站班、他們的服裝、他的酒政、以及他的燔祭、就是他在永恆主殿裏所獻上的；她看見了這一切，就詫異得神不守舍。

對他們說：『我知道永恆主已經把這地賜給你們，並且有一種懼怕你們的恐怖情緒落到我們心裏，而且這地所有的居民因你們的緣故都膽戰心驚。因為我們聽見你們出埃及的時候、永恆主怎樣使蘆葦海的水從你們面前乾了，你們又怎樣處置約但河東邊亞摩利人的兩個王、西宏和噩，就是你們所盡行毁滅歸神的。我們一聽見，都膽戰心驚；因你們的緣故、再沒有人勇氣能立得住的了；因為是永恆主你們的上帝、他在上天下地在做上帝。

我必打發大黃蜂在你前面，把希未人、迦南人、赫人、都從你們面前趕出去。

就是亞摩利王西宏，巴珊王噩，和迦南列國的王，

說：主永恆主對耶路撒冷這麼說：你的根原你的出生是從迦南地而來的；你父親是亞摩利人，你母親是赫人。

因為迦薩必被撇棄；亞實基倫必定荒涼；亞實突必在中午被趕逐；以革倫必被拔出根來。沿海地帶的居民、基利提人的國有禍啊！有永恆主的話在譴責你們呢！非利士人之地啊，我必使你屈服；我必毁滅你，使你沒有居民。沿海地帶啊，你必變為草場，牧人的洞穴，羊羣的壘圈。

他們的王一個是耶利哥王，一個是伯特利旁邊的艾王，一個是耶路撒冷王，一個是希伯崙王，一個是耶末王，一個是拉吉王，一個是伊磯倫王，一個是基色王，一個是底璧王，一個是基德王，一個是何珥瑪王，一個是亞拉得王，一個是立拿王，一個是亞杜蘭王，一個是瑪基大王，一個是伯特利王，一個是他普亞王，一個是希弗王，一個是亞弗王，一個是拉沙崙王，一個是瑪頓王，一個是夏瑣王，一個是伸崙米崙王，一個是押煞王，一個是他納王，一個是米吉多王，一個是基低斯王，一個是靠近迦密的約念王，一個是拿法多珥的多珥王，一個是在吉甲的戈印王，一個是得撒王，共計三十一個王。

看哪，列王會集攏來，一同向這裏進軍。他們一看見，就大喫一驚，驚惶失措，慌慌張張逃跑。在那裏戰兢抓住了他們；他們掙扎難過、像產難的婦人一樣。

因怕她的苦痛、都必在遠處站着說：『有禍啊！有禍啊！大城巴比倫！大有勢力的城啊，一時之間你受判罰的時候到了！』

『然而卻是我從以色列人面前剿滅了亞摩利人的；亞摩利人雖如香柏樹那麼高大，雖如橡樹那麼強健，卻是我去上滅了他的果子，下絕了他的根的。

基遍人原來不是以色列人，乃是亞摩利人中剩下來的；以色列人曾經和他們有誓約；掃羅卻對以色列人和猶大人生了妒愛熱情，想法子要擊殺基遍人。大衛王把基遍人召了來，問他們說：

永恆主把他們交付在迦南王耶賓手中；耶賓在夏瑣作王；他的軍長西西拉，住在外國人的夏羅設。

到了早晨，拿八酒醉退了，他妻子才將這些事告訴他，他的心在五內就如死去，他就像石頭一般。

王就變了氣色，他的思想使他驚惶；他的腰骨好像脫了節，雙膝直彼此相碰。

萬族之民聽見就戰抖，慘痛抓住了非利士的居民。那時以東的族系長驚惶，摩押的權貴被戰兢抓住，迦南的居民都震撼搖動：

如今永恆主以色列的上帝既把亞摩利人從他的人民以色列面前趕出，你竟要佔取這地麼？

約書亞死了以後，以色列人求問永恆主說：『誰要為我們先上去攻擊迦南人，和他們交戰呢？』

迦南生了長子西頓，又生赫、和耶布斯人、亞摩利人、革迦撒人、希未人、亞基人、西尼人、亞瓦底人、洗瑪利人、哈馬人，後來迦南的宗族分散了。迦南的境界是從西頓，經過基拉耳，直到迦薩；又經過所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁、直到拉沙。

倘若你們以事奉永恆主為不好，那麼你們今日就可以選擇你們所要事奉的：到底是你們列祖在大河那邊所事奉的神呢？還是你們住於其地的亞摩利人的神呢？至於我和我的家呢、我們是必定事奉永恆主的。』

若有人問你說：「你為甚麼歎息？」你要說：「因為有風聲說有事情要臨到，人就都膽戰心驚，手都發軟，精神都衰頹，膝蓋都柔弱如水。看吧，快臨到了！那是必定發生的」』：主永恆主發神諭說。

山地也要歸於你們；雖是森林，你們也可以砍下來；它的邊界也可以歸於你們；迦南人雖有鐵車，雖然強大，你們也能把他們趕出。』

這些事作完了，眾首領前來見我，說：『以色列民和祭司跟利未人並沒有從四圍各地別族之民中分別出來，反而仿照他們可憎惡的事去行，像迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人、亞捫人、摩押人、埃及人、亞摩利人所行的。

哀號哦！因為永恆主的日子臨近了；這日子必來到，就像毁滅出於毁滅者。故此人的手都必發軟，人都必膽戰心驚；他們都要驚惶失措。疼痛和劇疼必將他們抓住；他們必翻騰絞痛、像生產的婦人一樣；他們相顧駭愕，臉上都顯着劇疼的氣色。

就在那一天，永恆主就同亞伯蘭立了約說：『這地我已經給了你的後裔了：就是從埃及河直到大河、就是伯拉河、那一帶：就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫人、比利洗人、高身漢種的人、亞摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人、耶布斯人、之地。』

並且我從前用刀和弓從亞摩利人手裏奪取過來的那塊地、我也必賜給你，使你比眾弟兄多得一分。』

亞伯蘭經過那地，到了示劍地、神諭篤耨香樹那裏。當時迦南人在那地。

所留下的就是：非利士人的五個霸主、和一切迦南人、西頓人，和住利巴嫩山的希未人，從巴力黑們山直到哈馬口。

但是瑪拿西的子孫不能把這些城的居民趕出；這些迦南人執意住在那地。
