If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster on you and make an end of you, after he has been good to you.”

Suppose you desert the Lord. Suppose you serve the gods that people in other lands serve. If you do, he will turn against you. He will bring trouble on you. He will destroy you, even though he has been good to you.”

If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you harm and consume you, after having done you good.”

If you abandon the Lord and serve other gods, he will turn against you and destroy you, even though he has been so good to you.”

For if we deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins is left for us,but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume God’s enemies.

“ And you, Solomon my son, obey the God of your father and serve him with a submissive attitude and a willing spirit, for the LORD examines all minds and understands every motive of one’s thoughts. If you seek him, he will let you find him, but if you abandon him, he will reject you permanently.

But God turned away from them and gave them over to worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets:‘ It was not to me that you offered slain animals and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, was it, house of Israel?

But they rebelled and offended his holy Spirit, so he turned into an enemy and fought against them.

You are the one in whom Israel may find hope. All who leave you will suffer shame. Those who turn away from you will be consigned to the nether world. For they have rejected you, the LORD, the fountain of life.

I was embarrassed to request soldiers and horsemen from the king to protect us from the enemy along the way, because we had said to the king,“ The good hand of our God is on everyone who is seeking him, but his great anger is against everyone who forsakes him.”

“ But if a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and practices wrongdoing according to all the abominable practices the wicked carry out, will he live? All his righteous acts will not be remembered; because of the unfaithful acts he has done and the sin he has committed, he will die.

All rebellious sinners will be shattered, those who abandon the LORD will perish.

But as for you who abandon the LORD and forget about worshiping at my holy mountain, who prepare a feast for the god called‘ Fortune,’ and fill up wine jugs for the god called‘ Destiny’–I predestine you to die by the sword, all of you will kneel down at the slaughtering block, because I called to you, and you did not respond, I spoke and you did not listen. You did evil before me; you chose to do what displeases me.”

But if you ever turn away and make alliances with these nations that remain near you, and intermarry with them and establish friendly relations with them,know for certain that the LORD our God will no longer drive out these nations from before you. They will trap and ensnare you; they will be a whip that tears your sides and thorns that blind your eyes until you disappear from this good land the LORD your God gave you.“ Look, today I am about to die. You know with all your heart and being that not even one of all the faithful promises the LORD your God made to you is left unfulfilled; every one was realized– not one promise is unfulfilled!But in the same way every faithful promise the LORD your God made to you has been realized, it is just as certain, if you disobey, that the LORD will bring on you every judgment until he destroys you from this good land which the LORD your God gave you.

But my righteous one will live by faith, and if he shrinks back, I take no pleasure in him.
