Then the people answered Joshua,“ We would never desert the Lord! We would never serve other gods!

民众答道：“我们决不背弃耶和华去事奉别的神明，

众民回答：“我们绝对不会离弃耶和华，去事奉别的神；

百姓回答說：「我們斷不敢離棄耶和華去事奉別神；

百姓回答說：「我們絕不離棄耶和華去事奉別神。

民眾答道：「我們決不背棄耶和華去事奉別的神明，

眾民回答：“我們絕對不會離棄耶和華，去事奉別的神；

人民回答說：『我們絕對不離棄永恆主、去事奉別的神；

民對曰、我決不離棄耶和華、而事他神、

民對曰、我斷不可違耶和華、事他上帝、

民對曰、我儕斷不棄主而事異邦之神、異邦之神或作他神

Then the people answered,“ Far be it from us to forsake the Lord to serve other gods!

Then the people answered,“ Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods,

The people replied,“ We would never abandon the Lord and serve other gods.

The people replied,“ We will certainly not abandon the LORD to worship other gods!

The people answered and said,“ Far be it from us that we would abandon the Lord to serve other gods;

So the people answered and said:“ Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods;

And the people answered and said, Far be it from us that we should forsake Jehovah, to serve other gods;

The people replied,“ We will certainly not abandon the Lord to worship other gods!

And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;

The people responded,“ Far be it from us to abandon the LORD so we can worship other gods!

The people answered,“ Far be it from us that we should forsake Yahweh, to serve other gods;

And,“ The one who is right with God will live by faith. And I am not pleased with the one who pulls back.”( Habakkuk 2:3, 4)But we don’t belong to the people who pull back and are destroyed. We belong to the people who believe and are saved.

God is certainly fair! If he weren’t, how could he judge the world?

I would never sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. I’ll teach you to live in a way that is good and right.

Not at all! As far as sin is concerned, we are dead. So how can we keep on sinning?
