耶和華就必從你們面前把這些國民都趕出去，你們就必佔領比你們大比你們強的國民的地。

我今天吩咐你的，你務要遵守。看哪，我要把亞摩利人、迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人，從你面前趕逐出去。

如果你們轉離耶和華，與你們中間剩下的這些國家的餘民聯絡，和他們通婚，互相來往，你們就必知道，耶和華你們的神必不再把這些國家從你們面前趕出去；他們必要成為你們的網羅和陷阱，肋下的鞭和眼中的刺，直到你們從耶和華你們的神賜給你們的這美地上滅亡為止。

就要把所有的居民從你們面前趕出去，毀壞他們的一切雕像，以及一切鑄像，又拆毀他們的一切邱壇。你們要佔領那地，住在那裡，因為我已經把那地賜給你們作產業。

我要漸漸地把他們從你面前驅逐出去，等到你的人數增多起來，承受那地為止。我要限定你的境界，從紅海直到非利士海，從曠野直到大河。我要把那地的居民交在你手中，你要把他們從你面前驅逐出去。
