“你要吩咐以色列人，叫他们从所得为业的地中，把一些城给利未人居住，也把这些城周围的郊区给利未人。这些城要归他们居住，城的郊区可以牧放他们的牛羊和一切牲畜，也可以存放他们的财物。“你们给利未人的城郊，要从城墙起，周围向外量四百五十公尺。你们又要从城外，向东面量九百公尺，向南面量九百公尺，向西面量九百公尺，向北面量九百公尺，城在中间；这要归给他们作城外的郊区。你们分给利未人的城，其中要有六座避难城，让误杀人的可以逃到那里去，此外还要给他们四十二座城。这样，你们所要给利未人的城，共为四十八座，连城带城郊都要给他们。从以色列人所得的地业中，你们要把一些城给利未人，人多的就要多给，人少的就要少给；每个支派要照着自己承受的产业，把城分给利未人。”

路上不要带行囊，也不要带两件衣裳，不要带鞋或手杖，因为作工的理当得到供应。

在圣道上受教的，应该和施教的人分享自己的一切美物。

那些善于治理教会的长老，尤其是那些在讲道和教导上劳苦的长老，你们应当看他们是配受加倍的敬重和供奉的。因为经上说：“牛踹谷的时候，不可笼住它的嘴。”又说：“作工的配得工价。”

你们献给耶和华的地区，要长十二公里半，宽十公里。献给祭司的圣地，北边长十二公里半，西边宽五公里，东边宽五公里，南边长十二公里半。这地要归给祭司，就是撒督子孙中分别为圣的。他们守我所吩咐的职责；以色列人走迷路的时候，他们不像利未人那样走迷路。因此，从所献的圣区要有一块地献给祭司，作为至圣之地。这地沿着利未人的地界。沿着祭司的地界要有一块地献给利未人，长十二公里半，宽五公里。祭司的地也是长十二公里半，宽五公里。这地的任何部分不可变卖，不可交换，也不可转让给别人，因为它是这地中最好的一份，是归耶和华为圣的。“所剩下的地，宽两公里半，长十二公里半，要作俗地，供城市、居民和郊野之用。城要在其中。城的大小是这样：北边二千二百五十公尺，南边二千二百五十公尺，东边二千二百五十公尺，西边二千二百五十公尺。城要有郊野，北边一百二十五公尺，南边一百二十五公尺，东边一百二十五公尺，西边一百二十五公尺。这俗地两旁剩下的地，沿着所献的圣区的长度计算，东边五公里，西边五公里，也沿着所献的圣区。这些地的出产要给城里的工人作食物。
