but the forested hill country as well. Clear it, and its farthest limits will be yours; though the Canaanites have chariots fitted with iron and though they are strong, you can drive them out.”

You will also have the central hill country. It’s covered with trees. Cut them down and clear the land. That whole land from one end to the other will belong to you. The Canaanites use chariots that have iron parts. And those people are strong. But you can drive them out.”

but the hill country shall be yours, for though it is a forest, you shall clear it and possess it to its farthest borders. For you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.”

The forests of the hill country will be yours as well. Clear as much of the land as you wish, and take possession of its farthest corners. And you will drive out the Canaanites from the valleys, too, even though they are strong and have iron chariots.”

然則何可言耶、若上帝祐我、誰能敵我、

如是、我可毅然曰、主助我、任人所為、我不惴焉、

然我賴愛我者、故勝諸事而有餘、

窺察者二人、嫩之子約書亞、耶孚尼子迦勒、自裂其衣、告以色列會眾曰、我過其地而窺察之、其土甚美、產乳與蜜、如耶和華悅我、必導我至彼、以地賜我。莫叛耶和華、莫畏斯土之民、我得耶和華庇佑、彼無所扞衛、必為我並吞、故勿危懼、

爾與敵戰見車馬人民、較己尤眾、則毋畏懼、蓋爾上帝耶和華昔導爾出埃及、必輔翼爾。臨陳之時、祭司必至民前、告之曰、以色列族、尚聽之哉、爾今日攻敵臨戰、毋怯心、毋畏葸、毋恐懼、毋震驚、蓋爾上帝耶和華佑爾、為爾攻敵、以拯爾曹。

耶和華兮、賜予光明福祉、余何慮兮、扞衛我躬、予何懼兮、作惡者流、為予仇敵、欲噬我肉、今蹶其趾、淪胥以亡兮、

以色列族簡納大利山地、加利利之基特、以法蓮山地之示劍、猶大山地之基列亞巴、即希伯崙。

我乃爾之上帝、必左右爾、扶翼爾、手援爾、以彰仁義、故勿畏葸、勿狐疑、憾爾者皆愧怍、敵爾者俱死亡、凡與爾戰、必歸烏有、欲見無從。我耶和華爾之上帝、必攜爾手、謂爾曰、予扶翼爾、故勿恐懼、雅各家以色列族、素若蚯蚓、我耶和華乃爾聖主、必加拯救、眷祐爾躬。爾之仇敵、高若山岡、我將使爾為打榖之器、惟新其製、而有利齒、可擊諸敵、擣之成粉、有若秕糠。後簸揚之、任風吹散。我耶和華乃以色列族之聖主、爾曹賴我、其樂靡涯。

列王遂出、率眾如海濱之沙、不可勝數、車馬之多、亦難悉計。列王咸集、建營於米倫水、攻以色列族。耶和華諭約書亞曰、勿懼、詰朝此時、我將是眾付以色列族、死於爾前、爾當割其馬筋、焚其車輛。

由此山巔、至尼弗多亞泉、至以弗崙山邑、延至把拉、即基列耶林、

約書亞曰、汝族既大、以法蓮山狹小、可入林中、在比哩洗、哩乏音地、而砍其木。約瑟子孫曰、山地不我足用、居伯善與其鄉里、及耶斯烈谷之迦南人、皆有鐵車。

山地居民、自利巴嫩至蜜利弗馬音、與諸西頓人、我必驅逐於以色列族前、惟爾掣籤、分其地與以色列族為業、循我所命。

耶和華曰、我慰藉爾、斯世之人、俱將淪亡、儗於草萊、何為畏之。我耶和華肇造爾邦、張舒穹蒼、奠定寰宇、爾何為忘予、恆畏強暴之人、恐其烈怒、滅爾邦家、然彼怒雖烈、焉能有為。
