約書亞照永恆主所吩咐他的、將猶大人中一分地業、基列亞巴、分給了耶孚尼的兒子迦勒；亞巴是亞衲人的祖（基列亞巴就是希伯崙）。

In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah— Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron.( Arba was the forefather of Anak.)

Joshua gave a part of Judah’s share of land to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh. That was according to the Lord’ s command to Joshua. The share Caleb received was the city of Hebron. It was also called Kiriath Arba. Anak came from the family line of Arba.

According to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the people of Judah, Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

The Lord commanded Joshua to assign some of Judah’s territory to Caleb son of Jephunneh. So Caleb was given the town of Kiriath arba( that is, Hebron), which had been named after Anak’s ancestor.

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the LORD’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

Now he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the sons of Judah, in accordance with the command of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kiriath arba, Arba being the father of Anak( that is, Hebron).

Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kirjath Arba, which is Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, even Kiriath- arba, which Arba was the father of Anak( the same is Hebron).

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the Lord’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua,[ even] the city of Arba the father of Anak, which[ city is] Hebron.

Caleb son of Jephunneh was assigned Kiriath Arba( that is Hebron) within the tribe of Judah, according to the LORD’s instructions to Joshua.( Arba was the father of Anak.)

He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahweh to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak( also called Hebron).

迦勒在摩西面前叫人民安靜下來、說：『我們立刻上去、取得那地吧！我們足能勝過它。』

『永恆主聽見了你們的話的語氣，就惱怒，便起誓說：「這壞世代的人、連一個也不得以看見我所起誓應許給你們列祖的美好之地；惟有耶孚尼的兒子迦勒、他可以看見；我並且要將他所踏過的地賜給他和他的子孫，因為他滿心滿懷地跟從我永恆主。」

那時猶大人挨近前來、在吉甲見約書亞，有基尼洗人耶孚尼的兒子迦勒對約書亞說：『永恆主在加低斯巴尼亞對神人摩西所說關於我和你的話、你是知道的。永恆主的僕人摩西從加低斯巴尼亞打發我來偵探這地，那時我四十歲；我盡心裏所有的向他報告。然而同我上去的那些族弟兄卻使人民膽戰心驚；而我則滿心滿懷跟從永恆主我的上帝。當日摩西起誓說：「你腳所踏的地一定要歸你和你子孫為產業到永遠，因為你滿心滿懷跟從永恆主我的上帝。」現在你看，自從永恆主對摩西說了這句話以後、永恆主便照他所應許的使我活了這四十五年，就是以色列人在曠野漂流的時間；現在你看我，我今日已是個八十五歲人了。我今日還很強壯，像摩西打發我去那天一樣；無論是爭戰，是出入，那時我力氣怎樣，現在我力氣還是怎樣。現在求你將永恆主當日說過的這山地給我；因為你當日也聽說那裏有亞衲人、和闊大堅固的城；或者永恆主和我同在，我就把他們趕出。』於是約書亞給迦勒祝福，將希伯崙給耶孚尼的兒子迦勒為產業。因此希伯崙給基尼洗人耶孚尼的兒子迦勒為產業、直到今日；因為他滿心滿懷跟從永恆主以色列的上帝。希伯崙從前名叫基列亞巴；亞巴是亞衲族中最偉大的人。於是遍地太平、沒有戰爭。

這些人也斷不得看見我向他們祖宗起誓應許之地；凡藐視我的、一個也不得看見。但是我的僕人迦勒、因他另有一種精神、他滿心滿意地跟從我，我就要領他進他所去過的地；他的後裔也必取得那地為產業。
