Joshua took all these royal cities and their kings and put them to the sword. He totally destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded.

循耶和華僕摩西、命以色列族、亦循所載摩西之律法、以石築壇、毋雕鏤、毋用器造作、獻燔祭於其上、奉事耶和華、亦獻酬恩之祭。

是日約書亞取馬基大、刃擊其王、盡滅其民、靡有孑遺。如昔伐耶利哥王、今伐馬基大王亦如是。

在彼耶和華諭摩西曰、告以色列族云、汝渡此河入於迦南、必驅居民、凡勒像於碑、及鎔鑄之偶像、汝必壞之、毀厥崇邱、必取其地而居之、蓋我以斯土賜汝為業。

既取邑必焚之、循耶和華命、我所告爾者若是。

對曰、有告我云、爾之上帝、耶和華曾諭其僕摩西使滅斯土之民、以地給爾、故我甚畏、以命難保、遂行是事。

耶和華以拉吉付於以色列族、二日取之、刃擊拉吉與居民、如昔伐立拿無異。

即日取厄倫、刃擊之、翦滅居民、如昔伐拉吉無異。
