他們必為你放聲痛哭，把塵土撒在自己的頭上，在灰中打滾。他們必因你把頭剃光，腰束麻布，為你痛心哭泣，苦苦悲哀。

約伯坐在灰燼中，拿瓦片刮自己。

但神所賜的恩更大；所以聖經上說：“神對抗驕傲的人，賜恩給謙卑的人。”你們應當順服神，抵擋魔鬼，魔鬼就逃避你們。你們應當親近神，神就親近你們。罪人啊，要潔淨你們的手；三心兩意的人哪，要清潔你們的心。你們要愁苦、悲哀、哭泣，把歡笑變為傷痛，把快樂變為憂愁。你們務要在主面前謙卑，他就使你們高升。

不要在迦特報信，不要在巴歌哭泣；卻要在伯．亞弗拉打滾於塵土中。

現在，君王啊！你們要謹慎。地上的審判官啊！你們應當聽勸告。你們要以敬畏的態度事奉耶和華，又應當存戰兢的心而歡呼。你們要用嘴親吻子，否則他一發怒，你們就在路上滅亡，因為他的怒氣快要發作。凡是投靠他的，都是有福的。

他要把自己的口埋於塵土中，或者還有盼望。
