You threw me deep into the Mediterranean Sea. I was deep down in its waters. They were all around me. All your rolling waves were sweeping over me.

我被丟棄在死人中，如同躺在墳墓裡被殺的人，不再被你記念，與你手的眷顧隔絕了。你把我放在最深的陰坑裡，在黑暗之地，在幽深之處；你的怒火壓在我身上，你用你一切的波浪苦待我。細拉你使認識我的人遠離我，使我成為他們所憎惡的；我被囚禁，不能出來。

約拿就對他們說：「你們把我抬起來，拋進海中，海就會為你們平靜下來，因為我知道這場臨到你們的大風暴是因我的緣故。」然而，那些人還是拼命划槳要回到陸地，卻是不能，因為海浪越來越洶湧，衝向他們。他們就向耶和華呼求，說：「哦，耶和華啊，求你不要因這人性命的緣故使我們滅亡，不要把流無辜人血的罪歸在我們身上！因為你，耶和華啊，是你照著你的意願行了這事。」於是他們把約拿抬起來，拋進海中，海的怒濤就止息了。那些人大大敬畏耶和華，向耶和華獻上祭物，並且許願。
