You threw me deep into the Mediterranean Sea. I was deep down in its waters. They were all around me. All your rolling waves were sweeping over me.

For you cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the flood surrounded me; all your waves and your billows passed over me.

You threw me into the ocean depths, and I sank down to the heart of the sea. The mighty waters engulfed me; I was buried beneath your wild and stormy waves.

我被弃在死人之中，好像被杀的人躺在坟墓里；你不再记念他们，他们也和你（“你”原文作“你的手”）隔绝了。你把我放在最深的坑里，把我放在黑暗的地方和深渊里。你的烈怒重重地压着我，你的波浪从四方八面把我淹盖。（细拉）你使我的知己都远离我，使我成为他们所厌恶的。我被囚禁，不能外出。

他回答说：“你们把我抬起来，投在海里，海浪就会平静，因为我知道，这场大风暴临到你们，是为了我的缘故。”那些人虽然破浪挣扎，要把船靠岸，却是不能，因为海浪不断汹涌扑来。他们就呼求耶和华，说：“耶和华啊！我们恳求你，不要因这人叫我们丧命；不要把无辜人的血归在我们身上，因为你耶和华是照自己所喜悦的行事。”于是他们把约拿抬起来，投在海里，怒涛就平息了。那些人就大大敬畏耶和华，向他献祭和许愿。
