Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand—

Priests, blow the trumpets in Zion. Give a warning on my holy mountain. Let everyone who lives in the land tremble with fear. The day of the Lord is coming. It is very near.

Blow a trumpet in Zion; sound an alarm on my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming; it is near,

Sound the trumpet in Jerusalem! Raise the alarm on my holy mountain! Let everyone tremble in fear because the day of the Lord is upon us.

Declare in Judah, proclaim in Jerusalem, and say, Blow the ram’s horn throughout the land. Cry out loudly and say,“ Assemble yourselves, and let’s flee to the fortified cities.”

The end of all things is near; therefore, be alert and sober-minded for prayer.

Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who dwells in Zion, my holy mountain. Jerusalem will be holy, and foreigners will never overrun it again.

Woe because of that day! For the day of the LORD is near and will come as devastation from the Almighty.

a day of ram’s horn and battle cry against the fortified cities, and against the high corner towers.

Blow the ram’s horn in Zion! Announce a sacred fast; proclaim a solemn assembly.

For the day of the LORD is near, against all the nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; what you deserve will return on your own head.

If a ram’s horn is blown in a city, aren’t people afraid? If a disaster occurs in a city, hasn’t the LORD done it?

“ When you sound short blasts, the camps pitched on the east are to set out.When you sound short blasts a second time, the camps pitched on the south are to set out. Short blasts are to be sounded for them to set out.When calling the assembly together, you are to sound long blasts, not short ones.The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to sound the trumpets. Your use of these is a permanent statute throughout your generations.“ When you enter into battle in your land against an adversary who is attacking you, sound short blasts on the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God and be saved from your enemies.

My hand made all these things, and so they all came into being. This is the LORD’s declaration. I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at my word.

Blow the ram’s horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah; raise the war cry in Beth-aven: Look behind you, Benjamin!

Do you not fear me? This is the LORD’s declaration. Do you not tremble before me, the one who set the sand as the boundary of the sea, an enduring barrier that it cannot cross? The waves surge, but they cannot prevail. They roar but cannot pass over it.

You also must be patient. Strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near.

The great day of the LORD is near, near and rapidly approaching. Listen, the day of the LORD— then the warrior’s cry is bitter.

Put the ram’s horn to your mouth! One like an eagle comes against the house of the LORD, because they transgress my covenant and rebel against my law.

Here is the day! Here it comes! Doom is on its way. The rod has blossomed; arrogance has bloomed.

You who tremble at his word, hear the word of the LORD:“ Your brothers who hate and exclude you for my name’s sake have said,‘ Let the LORD be glorified so that we can see your joy!’ But they will be put to shame.”

For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.

For a day belonging to the LORD of Armies is coming against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up— it will be humbled—

Therefore say to them,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: I will put a stop to this proverb, and they will not use it again in Israel.’ But say to them,‘ The days have arrived, as well as the fulfillment of every vision.

When I heard this report, I tore my tunic and robe, pulled out some of the hair from my head and beard, and sat down devastated.Everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel gathered around me, because of the unfaithfulness of the exiles, while I sat devastated until the evening offering.

This is what the Lord GOD says: Look, one disaster after another is coming!An end has come; the end has come! It has awakened against you. Look, it is coming!Doom has come on you, inhabitants of the land. The time has come; the day is near. There will be panic on the mountains and not celebration.

Therefore, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, so now, not only in my presence but even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

The city he founded is on the holy mountains.

“ For look, the day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the arrogant and everyone who commits wickedness will become stubble. The coming day will consume them,” says the LORD of Armies,“ not leaving them root or branches.

“ When you tell these people all these things, they will say to you,‘ Why has the LORD declared all this terrible disaster against us? What is our iniquity? What is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?’

So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouts, the sound of the ram’s horn, trumpets, and cymbals, and the playing of harps and lyres.

The LORD says this:“ I will return to Zion and live in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the Faithful City; the mountain of the LORD of Armies will be called the Holy Mountain.”

On that day you will not be put to shame because of everything you have done in rebelling against me. For then I will remove from among you your jubilant, arrogant people, and you will never again be haughty on my holy mountain.

I tremble in awe of you; I fear your judgments.

While I was speaking, praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my petition before the LORD my God concerning the holy mountain of my God—

He asked me,“ What do you see, Amos?” I replied,“ A basket of summer fruit.” The LORD said to me,“ The end has come for my people Israel; I will no longer spare them.

And suppose he sees the sword coming against the land and blows his ram’s horn to warn the people.

Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, may your anger and wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors, Jerusalem and your people have become an object of ridicule to all those around us.

Food won’t be provided for the mourner to comfort him because of the dead. A consoling drink won’t be given him for the loss of his father or mother.

When both are sounded in long blasts, the entire community is to gather before you at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

The time has come; the day has arrived. Let the buyer not rejoice and the seller not mourn, for wrath is on her whole crowd.
