耕地的人很失望，修理葡萄園的哀號着，為了大麥小麥而悲哀；因為田間的莊稼都壞掉了。

農夫歟、爾其慚怍、治葡萄者歟、爾其號咷、因麰麥小麥皆無、田穡俱敗也、

土產已絕、麰麥小麥、歸於烏有、農夫含羞、場師抱愧、

麥與麰麥、悉已罄盡、田間禾稼、歸於烏有、農夫絕望、治葡萄園者號哭、

Despair, you farmers, wail, you vine growers; grieve for the wheat and the barley, because the harvest of the field is destroyed.

Farmers, be sad. Cry, you who grow vines. Mourn because the wheat and barley are gone. The crops in the fields are destroyed.

Be ashamed, O tillers of the soil; wail, O vinedressers, for the wheat and the barley, because the harvest of the field has perished.

Despair, all you farmers! Wail, all you vine growers! Weep, because the wheat and barley— all the crops of the field— are ruined.

Be ashamed, you farmers, wail, you vinedressers, over the wheat and the barley, because the harvest of the field has perished.

Be ashamed, you farm workers, Wail, you vinedressers, For the wheat and the barley; Because the harvest of the field is destroyed.

The nobles send their servants for water; they go to the cisterns but find no water. They return with their jars unfilled; dismayed and despairing, they cover their heads.The ground is cracked because there is no rain in the land; the farmers are dismayed and cover their heads. (niv)

though on the day you set them out, you make them grow, and on the morning when you plant them, you bring them to bud, yet the harvest will be as nothing in the day of disease and incurable pain. (niv)

Who is wise enough to understand this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it? Why has the land been ruined and laid waste like a desert that no one can cross? (niv)

And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. (niv)

Therefore this is what the Lord, the Lord God Almighty, says:“ There will be wailing in all the streets and cries of anguish in every public square. The farmers will be summoned to weep and the mourners to wail. (niv)
