Beware of turning to evil, which you seem to prefer to affliction.

Be careful not to do what is evil. You seem to like evil better than suffering!

Be on guard! Turn back from evil, for God sent this suffering to keep you from a life of evil.

Now when Daniel learned that the document was signed, he entered his house( and in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and offering praise before his God, just as he had been doing previously.

For you say,‘ What advantage will it be to You? What benefit will I have, more than if I had sinned?’

They followed his advice; and after calling the apostles in, they flogged them and ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and then released them.So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name.

yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution occurs because of the word, immediately he falls away.

Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler;but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name.

What man is like Job, Who drinks up derision like water,Who goes in company with the workers of injustice, And walks with wicked people?For he has said,‘ It is of no use to a man When he becomes friends with God.’
