Surely it is an empty cry– God does not hear it; the Almighty does not take notice of it.

Indeed, God does not listen to their empty plea; the Almighty pays no attention to it.

In fact, God doesn’t listen to their empty cries. The Mighty One doesn’t pay any attention to them.

Surely God does not hear an empty cry, nor does the Almighty regard it.

But it is wrong to say God doesn’t listen, to say the Almighty isn’t concerned.

Indeed, God does not listen to empty cries, and the Almighty does not take note of it—

God certainly will not listen to an empty cry, Nor will the Almighty regard it.

The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

So I, the LORD, say this:‘ I will soon bring disaster on them which they will not be able to escape! When they cry out to me for help, I will not listen to them.

When you spread out your hands in prayer, I look the other way; when you offer your many prayers, I do not listen, because your hands are covered with blood.

Be careful what you do when you go to the temple of God; draw near to listen rather than to offer a sacrifice like fools, for they do not realize that they are doing wrong.Do not be rash with your mouth or hasty in your heart to bring up a matter before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth! Therefore, let your words be few.Just as dreams come when there are many cares, so the rash vow of a fool occurs when there are many words.

The LORD abhors the sacrifices of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.

When you pray, do not babble repetitiously like the Gentiles, because they think that by their many words they will be heard.

Even if you offer me burnt and grain offerings, I will not be satisfied; I will not look with favor on your peace offerings of fattened calves.

The one who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.

Accept instruction from his mouth and store up his words in your heart.If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; if you remove wicked behavior far from your tent,and throw your gold in the dust– your gold of Ophir among the rocks in the ravines–then the Almighty himself will be your gold, and the choicest silver for you.Surely then you will delight yourself in the Almighty, and will lift up your face toward God.You will pray to him and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows to him.
