When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble? And when He hides His face, who then can see Him, Whether it is against a nation or a man alone?—

“他使人安静，谁能扰乱呢？他掩面，谁能见他呢？无论待一国或一人都是如此。

他安静，谁能定罪呢？他转脸，谁能见他呢？无论一国或一人都是如此。

但祂若保持缄默，谁能定祂有罪？祂若掩起脸来，谁能看得见祂？个人和国家都靠祂垂顾，

他若安静不动，谁能定他有罪呢？他若掩面，谁能看见他呢？无论对待一国或一人，都是这样。

上帝安人、誰能罪之、上帝掩面、誰能覲之、於國於人皆然、

主所福、誰能禍之、主所禍、誰能福之、其待人或一國、或匹夫、無二理也。

天主賜人綏安、誰能擾亂、天主若掩面、誰能覲之、其待一國待一人皆如是、

But if he remains silent, who can condemn him? If he hides his face, who can see him? Yet he is over individual and nation alike,

But if he remains silent, who can judge him? If he turns his face away, who can see him? He rules over individual people and nations alike.

When he is quiet, who can condemn? When he hides his face, who can behold him, whether it be a nation or a man?—

But if he chooses to remain quiet, who can criticize him? When he hides his face, no one can find him, whether an individual or a nation.

But when God is silent, who can declare him guilty? When he hides his face, who can see him? Yet he watches over both individuals and nations,

When He keeps quiet, who can condemn? And when He hides His face, who then can look at Him, That is, regarding both nation and a person?—

When he giveth quietness, who then can condemn? And when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? Alike whether it be done unto a nation, or unto a man:

But when God is silent, who can declare Him guilty? When He hides His face, who can see Him? Yet He watches over both individuals and nations,

“ But He is unique, and who can make Him change? And whatever His soul desires, that He does.

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation.

How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?

Job further continued his discourse, and said:“ Oh, that I were as in months past, As in the days when God watched over me;When His lamp shone upon my head, And when by His light I walked through darkness;

Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled.

It shall come to pass in the day the Lord gives you rest from your sorrow, and from your fear and the hard bondage in which you were made to serve,that you will take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say:“ How the oppressor has ceased, The golden city ceased!The Lord has broken the staff of the wicked, The scepter of the rulers;He who struck the people in wrath with a continual stroke, He who ruled the nations in anger, Is persecuted and no one hinders.The whole earth is at rest and quiet; They break forth into singing.Indeed the cypress trees rejoice over you, And the cedars of Lebanon, Saying,‘ Since you were cut down, No woodsman has come up against us.’

Answer me speedily, O Lord; My spirit fails! Do not hide Your face from me, Lest I be like those who go down into the pit.

And it shall be, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and which will not put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation I will punish,’ says the Lord,‘ with the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

“ Look, I go forward, but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him;When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him; When He turns to the right hand, I cannot see Him.

The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.

Moreover all the leaders of the priests and the people transgressed more and more, according to all the abominations of the nations, and defiled the house of the Lord which He had consecrated in Jerusalem.And the Lord God of their fathers sent warnings to them by His messengers, rising up early and sending them, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place.But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy.Therefore He brought against them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, on the aged or the weak; He gave them all into his hand.

If He breaks a thing down, it cannot be rebuilt; If He imprisons a man, there can be no release.

Now it came to pass in the fourth year of King Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea the son of Elah, king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria and besieged it.And at the end of three years they took it. In the sixth year of Hezekiah, that is, the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was taken.Then the king of Assyria carried Israel away captive to Assyria, and put them in Halah and by the Habor, the River of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes,because they did not obey the voice of the Lord their God, but transgressed His covenant and all that Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded; and they would neither hear nor do them.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Now it came to pass when the king was dwelling in his house, and the Lord had given him rest from all his enemies all around,
