He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.

Who alone stretches out the heavens, And tramples down the waves of the sea;

It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain And spreads them out like a tent to live in.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.And the earth was a formless and desolate emptiness, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

From eternity I was established, From the beginning, from the earliest times of the earth.When there were no ocean depths, I was born, When there were no springs abounding with water.Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills, I was born;While He had not yet made the earth and the fields, Nor the first dust of the world.When He established the heavens, I was there; When He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep,

Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak, Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain.He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters; He makes the clouds His chariot; He walks on the wings of the wind;He makes the winds His messengers, Flaming fire His ministers.He established the earth upon its foundations, So that it will not totter forever and ever.

This is what God the Lord says, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it And spirit to those who walk in it:

Raise your eyes on high And see who has created these stars, The One who brings out their multitude by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, Not one of them is missing.

For He has founded it upon the seas And established it upon the rivers.
