How you have counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!

How you have counseled the unwise and abundantly provided insight!

What advice you have given to one without wisdom! What helpful insight you have abundantly provided!

How have you counseled one who has no wisdom? And how have you declared sound advice to many?

How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, And plentifully declared sound knowledge!

How you have counseled the unwise and thoroughly explained the path to success!

How hast thou counselled[ him that hath] no wisdom? and[ how] hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?

How you have advised the one without wisdom, and abundantly revealed your insight!

How have you counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!

I waited while you men spoke. I listened to your reasoning. While you were searching for words,I paid careful attention to you. But not one of you has proved that Job is wrong. None of you has answered his arguments.Don’t claim,‘ We have enough wisdom to answer Job.’ Let God, not a mere man, prove that he’s wrong.

I don’t have the power to help myself. All hope of success has been taken away from me.

What I say comes from an honest heart. My lips speak only what I know is true.

But if you don’t have anything to say, listen to me. Be quiet so I can teach you how to be wise.”

“ Who do you think you are to disagree with my plans? You do not know what you are talking about.

Do you listen in when God speaks with his angels? Do you think you are the only wise person?What do you know that we don’t know? What understanding do you have that we don’t have?People who are old and gray are on our side. And they are even older than your parents!

To this very day I tell about your wonderful acts.God, don’t leave me even when I’m old and have gray hair. Let me live to tell my children about your power. Let me tell all of them about your mighty acts.

Hear this, all you nations. Listen, all you who live in this world.Listen, people, whether you are ordinary or important. Listen, people, whether you are rich or poor.My mouth will speak wise words. What I think about in my heart will give you understanding.I will pay attention to a proverb. I will explain my riddle as I play the harp.

I wish you would keep your mouths shut! Then people would think you were wise.
