By his power he stilled the sea; by his understanding he shattered Rahab.

以其能平靜滄海、以其智擊破波濤、

施其大能、海波洶湧、行其大智、洪濤恬靜、

以大能使海洶湧、以智慧擊傷拉哈伯、又作以大能使海恬靜以智慧制伏波濤

By his power he churned up the sea; by his wisdom he cut Rahab to pieces.

With his power he stirred up the oceans. In his wisdom he cut the sea monster Rahab to pieces.

By his power the sea grew calm. By his skill he crushed the great sea monster.

By his power he stirred the sea, and by his understanding he crushed Rahab.

With His power He quieted the sea, And by His understanding He shattered Rahab.

He stirs up the sea with His power, And by His understanding He breaks up the storm.

He stirreth up the sea with his power, And by his understanding he smiteth through Rahab.

By His power He stirred the sea, and by His understanding He crushed Rahab.

He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.

By his power he stills the sea; by his wisdom he cut Rahab the great sea monster to pieces.

He stirs up the sea with his power, and by his understanding he strikes through Rahab.

I am the Lord your God, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the Lord of hosts is his name.

Thus says the Lord, who gives the sun for light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the Lord of hosts is his name:

You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them.You crushed Rahab like a carcass; you scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the dragon?

“ God will not turn back his anger; beneath him bowed the helpers of Rahab.

The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord sits enthroned as king forever.

Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.The sea looked and fled; Jordan turned back.The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.What ails you, O sea, that you flee? O Jordan, that you turn back?O mountains, that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs?Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

“ With God are wisdom and might; he has counsel and understanding.

The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring.Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty!

But he gives more grace. Therefore it says,“ God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble.

You divided the sea by your might; you broke the heads of the sea monsters on the waters.

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.The Egyptians pursued and went in after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.And in the morning watch the Lord in the pillar of fire and of cloud looked down on the Egyptian forces and threw the Egyptian forces into a panic,clogging their chariot wheels so that they drove heavily. And the Egyptians said,“ Let us flee from before Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.”Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the water may come back upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.”So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its normal course when the morning appeared. And as the Egyptians fled into it, the Lord threw the Egyptians into the midst of the sea.The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen; of all the host of Pharaoh that had followed them into the sea, not one of them remained.But the people of Israel walked on dry ground through the sea, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.Thus the Lord saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.Israel saw the great power that the Lord used against the Egyptians, so the people feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in his servant Moses.

For the Lord of hosts has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up— and it shall be brought low;

Pour out the overflowings of your anger, and look on everyone who is proud and abase him.Look on everyone who is proud and bring him low and tread down the wicked where they stand.
