They cause the poor to go naked, without clothing; And they take away the sheaves from the hungry.

使人赤身无衣，到处流行，且因饥饿扛抬禾捆，

困苦人赤身无衣，到处流浪，饿着肚子扛抬禾捆，

困苦人赤身无衣，到处流浪，饿着肚子扛抬禾捆，

使他们赤身露体地流浪，饿着肚子扛禾捆。

因此穷人赤身露体流浪，他们因饥饿就抬走禾捆；

使人赤身無衣，到處流行，且因飢餓扛擡禾捆，

困苦人赤身無衣，到處流浪，餓着肚子扛抬禾捆，

困苦人赤身無衣，到處流浪，餓着肚子扛抬禾捆，

使他們赤身露體地流浪，餓著肚子扛禾捆。

因此窮人赤身露體流浪，他們因飢餓就抬走禾捆；

窮人赤身無衣地流浪；食而不飽地扛抬禾捆；

使之無衣、裸體游行、枵腹而負禾束、

使彼裸體從其後、枵腹負其禾、

使之無衣、裸身而行、又使之饑負禾束、

Lacking clothes, they go about naked; they carry the sheaves, but still go hungry.

The poor don’t have any clothes. They go around naked. They carry bundles of grain, but they still go hungry.

They go about naked, without clothing; hungry, they carry the sheaves;

The poor must go about naked, without any clothing. They harvest food for others while they themselves are starving.

Without clothing, they wander about naked. They carry sheaves but go hungry.

The poor move about naked without clothing, And they carry sheaves, while going hungry.

So that they go about naked without clothing, And being hungry they carry the sheaves.

They cause[ him] to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf[ from] the hungry;

So that they go around naked without clothing. Being hungry, they carry the sheaves.

They pant after the dust of the earth which is on the head of the poor, And pervert the way of the humble. A man and his father go in to the same girl, To defile My holy name.They lie down by every altar on clothes taken in pledge, And drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.

Therefore, because you tread down the poor And take grain taxes from him, Though you have built houses of hewn stone, Yet you shall not dwell in them; You have planted pleasant vineyards, But you shall not drink wine from them.For I know your manifold transgressions And your mighty sins: Afflicting the just and taking bribes; Diverting the poor from justice at the gate.

“ When you reap your harvest in your field, and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
