What if thirty are found there?” He replied,“ I will not do it if I find thirty there.”Abraham said,“ Since I have undertaken to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty are found there?” He replied,“ I will not destroy it for the sake of the twenty.”Finally Abraham said,“ May the Lord not be angry so that I may speak just once more. What if ten are found there?” He replied,“ I will not destroy it for the sake of the ten.”

Listen attentively, my God, and hear! Open your eyes and look on our desolated ruins and the city called by your name. For it is not because of our own righteous deeds that we are praying to you, but because your compassion is abundant.O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, pay attention, and act! Don’t delay, for your own sake, O my God! For your city and your people are called by your name.”

For the sake of your reputation, O LORD, forgive my sin, because it is great.

But you said,‘ I will certainly make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand on the seashore, too numerous to count.’”

Vindicate me, O God! Fight for me against an ungodly nation! Deliver me from deceitful and evil men!

Why should the Egyptians say,‘ For evil he led them out to kill them in the mountains and to destroy them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your burning anger, and relent of this evil against your people.Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel your servants, to whom you swore by yourself and told them,‘ I will multiply your descendants like the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken about I will give to your descendants, and they will inherit it forever.’”
