“ Can a man be profitable to God, Though he who is wise may be profitable to himself?

“人岂能使神有益呢？智慧人但能有益于己。

“人能使上帝有益吗？智慧人能使他有益吗？

“人能使神有益吗？智慧人能使他有益吗？

“人对上帝能有何益处？即使智者对祂又有何益？

“人对神能有什么益处呢？明智的人只能益己。

人豈能使神有益呢？智慧人但能有益於己。

「人能使上帝有益嗎？智慧人能使他有益嗎？

「人能使神有益嗎？智慧人能使他有益嗎？

「人對上帝能有何益處？即使智者對祂又有何益？

“人對神能有甚麼益處呢？明智的人只能益己。

『人對上帝哪能有用處呢？明智人只能對自己有用處而已。

世人豈能益上帝乎、智者祇益己耳、

賢者惟自獲其益、原無所裨於上帝。

世人豈能益於天主乎、智慧者智慧者或作賢者惟自益耳、

“ Can a man be of benefit to God? Can even a wise person benefit him?

“ Can any person be of benefit to God? Can even a wise person be of any help to him?

“ Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.

“ Can a person do anything to help God? Can even a wise person be helpful to him?

Can a man be of any use to God? Can even a wise man be of use to him?

“ Can a strong man be of use to God, Or a wise one be useful to himself?

Can a man be profitable unto God? Surely he that is wise is profitable unto himself.

Can a man be of any use to God? Can even a wise man be of use to Him?

Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?

“ Is it to God that a strong man is of benefit? Is it to him that even a wise man is profitable?

“ Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.

So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say,‘ We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’”

O my soul, you have said to the Lord,“ You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.”

Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding;For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold.She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her.

If you sin, what do you accomplish against Him? Or, if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to Him?If you are righteous, what do you give Him? Or what does He receive from your hand?Your wickedness affects a man such as you, And your righteousness a son of man.

Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit do we have if we pray to Him?’

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good?

If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, And if you scoff, you will bear it alone.”

If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

Wisdom is good with an inheritance, And profitable to those who see the sun.For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense, But the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.

Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.”
