“ Though I cry,‘ Violence!’ I get no response; though I call for help, there is no justice.

“ I cry out,‘ Someone harmed me!’ But I don’t get any reply. I call out for help. But I’m not treated fairly.

Behold, I cry out,‘ Violence!’ but I am not answered; I call for help, but there is no justice.

“ I cry out,‘ Help!’ but no one answers me. I protest, but there is no justice.

I cry out,“ Violence!” but get no response; I call for help, but there is no justice.

“ Behold, I cry,‘ Violence!’ but I get no answer; I shout for help, but there is no justice.

“ If I cry out concerning wrong, I am not heard. If I cry aloud, there is no justice.

O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear![ even] cry out unto thee[ of] violence, and thou wilt not save!Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause[ me] to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence[ are] before me: and there are[ that] raise up strife and contention.

Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.

I cry unto thee, and thou dost not hear me: I stand up, and thou regardest me[ not].

Not for[ any] injustice in mine hands: also my prayer[ is] pure.O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no place.Also now, behold, my witness[ is] in heaven, and my record[ is] on high.

If I be wicked, woe unto me; and[ if] I be righteous,[ yet] will I not lift up my head.[ I am] full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou shewest thyself marvellous upon me.Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thine indignation upon me; changes and war[ are] against me.

For[ he is] not a man, as I[ am, that] I should answer him,[ and] we should come together in judgment.

[ Is it] good unto thee that thou shouldest oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thine hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?

For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.

Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices[ which] ye wrongfully imagine against me.

O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

Oh that I knew where I might find him![ that] I might come[ even] to his seat!I would order[ my] cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.I would know the words[ which] he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.Will he plead against me with[ his] great power? No; but he would put[ strength] in me.There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.

The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where,[ and] who[ is] he?

Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.He also[ shall be] my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.Behold now, I have ordered[ my] cause; I know that I shall be justified.Who[ is] he[ that] will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost.Only do not two[ things] unto me: then will I not hide myself from thee.Withdraw thine hand far from me: and let not thy dread make me afraid.Then call thou, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer thou me.How many[ are] mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.

O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man[ pleadeth] for his neighbour!

Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire[ is, that] the Almighty would answer me, and[ that] mine adversary had written a book.Surely I would take it upon my shoulder,[ and] bind it[ as] a crown to me.
